Nice little room for a solo traveler like me, it was a little confusing knowing where to go at first. Just go up to the metal gate that google maps shows you and go through it's open. There is no kitchen just a bathroom and bed but there is plenty of places to grab a bite to eat nearby. Also many tours are available nearby.

This is an excellent budget friendly location. When we stayed at the end of July, the place was very quiet, meaning we were able to sleep well. It is immediately behind a tram stop (Grangegorman), which is incredibly useful for travelling to and from the city centre. When we arrived at the airport, we went to the airport supermarket in the building opposite arrivals and bought a 72hr Tourist Leap Card for €18. This made getting around easy. Trams do run late and start early, the noise of which can be heard from the accommodation, so might disturb some people. It's a hall of residence and every 8 rooms have a shared kitchen in a wing that can only be accessed with your key card. The place was very clean and had a nice atmosphere. We bought food from a Tesco in Phibsborough (next tram stop up) and cooked and ate in the kitchen. Washing up liquid etc is supplied. There is also a large sofa, if youd like to relax but not sit on your bed! The rooms contain a small double which is OK for a short break. We had a 'deluxe room, which had a small separate seating area (one chair). Unfortunately, couldn't use this area as the light wasn't working. I reported it immediately to reception who said it would be fixed right away but this didn't happen. Some reviews reported that the location has some antisocial behaviour. We didn't experience this at all. Overall, Highfield House is a great budget friendly option for a short break to Dublin.

This place was fantastic! Super comfortable bed with plush pillows. Bathroom had an awesome shower with a rain head AND hand-held attachment. All the furnishings and fixtures seem very new. Even though it's student-housing, it feels more like a nice hotel.
