"We stayed 3 nights - Friday breakfast was terrific but Saturday and Sunday were not as good. I'm not sure why they took away some lovely breakfast items and replaced them with much lesser quality items for the weekend. Not good. And we were told breakfast started at 6am but then on the weekend we were told that it started at 7a. They should have told us that when we checked in since they knew we were staying 3 nights. We had events every morning that required us to leave at 6:50a - not helpful. The room was nice - could have used a sitting chair (it had one desk chair but nothing else other than the bed) but overall a comfortable room."

"The grounds of Cowper Inn are lovely, the location is superb, and felt very safe. Hugo was very kind and helpful. The property consists of two large, historic looking mansions, side by side on a street corner. The lock on our suite wasn't working, so we were moved to a ground floor suite on the street corner, which was louder than I had hoped. The house we were moved to reminded me of a hostel (only nicer) in that there were several individual rooms, with a shared seating area and kitchen. Our suite had a private bathroom, I'm not sure what the single rooms are like. My 13 yo daughter really liked our suite, as did I, though I didn't sleep very well due to the noise, and I was grumpy that there was no coffee in the room or kitchen (there were devices to make coffee, just no coffee itself). I would stay again, with the expectation that I might need to be flexible. I should add that this could be a perfect place to stay for people who enjoy the aspects of a shared space, but want something nicer and more peaceful than a hostel."

"We stayed here while in the Palo Alto area for a family wedding - it was a wonderful home base for a very busy and memorable week.We were relatively new to VRBO and contacted the owners a few times early on. Each time they were responsive, informative and genuinely caring. That continued after we left: I realized I had left behind my fitness tracker band, and they took the time to locate it and put it in the mail to me. That kind of thoughtfulness says a lot about the hosts.The home is beautiful, comfortable and inviting, inside and out. It was exceptionally clean, well-appointed and stocked with everything we needed. Bedrooms have convenient access to power for your devices, and there are several good spots to open a laptop if needed.The neighborhood is incredibly peaceful and quiet, with welcoming streets for walking, running or biking. The front and back outdoor spaces are surrounded by beautiful plants and trees, with frequent hummingbird sightings.Downtown Palo Alto is walkable for restaurants, shopping or coffee, while the highway is nearby and convenient for trips to San Francisco or San Jose, yet you can't hear it from the house.Beautiful home, peaceful setting, excellent location and thoughtful hosts. We would happily stay here again."
