The BoatHouse on the Peninsula

An Exclusive romantic hideaway, The Boat House is one of just two accommodations on on a secluded private peninsula with 250 acres of wilderness, wildlife, and surrounding waterfront to explore. Featuring a king size bedroom, decadent bathroom and contemporary lounge and dining area with stunning water views. This is an accommodation experience to be savoured - take in the breathtaking views from the expansive private deck complete with Hot Tub for two!

The Peninsula is for those who enjoy privacy and seclusion, in a magical setting. The property's wilderness and wildlife are yours to explore and absorb, surrounded by the magnificent waters of the D'Entrecasteaux Channel and Port Esperance Bay.

The Peninsula occupies some 250 acres on Esperance Point, locally known as "Blubber Head", including a 50 acre Crown Reserve at the head of the peninsula (view location map). The property commands 360 degree views encompassing sweeping water vistas across the D'Entrecasteaux Channel, to the Huon River and Bruny Island to the East, and across the beautiful Port Esperance Bay to the snow capped mountains of the Hartz range and the South West Wilderness reserve.

Use your private peninsula as a base to explore Tasmania's "Far South" while you enjoy this unique accommodation, home to a rich diversity of Tasmania's wildlife...bandicoots, wallabies, devils, echidnas and wombats to name just a few, as well as resident eagles and over 70 bird species including the endangered Swift Parrot.

We're pleased to announce that our walking track network is now complete! Our 4km walking track network visits a range of habitats from dry sclerophyll forest, through buttongrass heathland and tea tree wetland to rocky shore platforms.

Boat House guests have access to the entire 250 acre property...complete with its own network of private walking tracks.
The property has two luxury accommodations so we do ask that you respect the privacy of guests at the other accommodation, Cape House on the Peninsula- this is 2km from the BoatHouse and each accommodation is private and exclusive!

The Peninsula Experience is managed by Essentially Tas- our office is situated in Bay View Road, Dover at Driftwood Cottages and we are available whenever needed for assistance or advice!

The Boat House is an adult only retreat- sorry, no children or pets

Outstanding location and beautiful views
We had an amazing stay in the Boathouse. We arrived to warm and lighted rooms, as well as champagne and delicious fresh bread. So welcoming. The location was the perfect base from which to explore the south of Tasmania and we had everything we needed in our self-contained accommodation. Even though the weather was cool, we were so cozy with central heating and a fireplace. The jacuzzi was an added bonus, as was the inquisitive wildlife. We would definitely stay here again!

Majestical
From the moment we opened the big red gate we felt like we were home. Our very own private dream home. The quality decor made this stay extra special. Deliberately fitted out to the little unexpected it made us feel like we were special. The views from the HOT hot-tub were soaked up for hours and at night you are reminded again what a gem the Boathouse is. The well primed fire place with ample wood, the absolute silence and the STARS. Our 3 night stay will stay with us for a long time. Clearly we fell in love with the Boathouse. Thank you so much.

Wonderful getaway
We loved our three night stay here. Such a remote location. We loved walking around the extensive property. The wood fires and hot spa on the outside deck were heaven. We will return.

Stunning boutique accommodation
Wow- what a spot. We enjoyed our stay immensely, the boat house was private, tranquil, absolute luxury in furniture and fittings. The wildlife, walks on the property, special treats on arrival, sunset on our private beach and comfortable surroundings made this stay so memorable. A truly magical stay. Highly recommended.
