"Staff were very attentive and friendly. The hotel was very clean. I liked the mini-bar was topped up each day for free. The room walls are a bit thin and you can hear next door quite easily. They do supply ear plugs which helps."

"Great location. Staff were extremely nice and professional. Just note there are no actual outdoor balconies here, the photos are of indoor balconies which was the oddest thing Id ever seen. The balcony was in the middle of the building facing the open walkway corridor of the rooms opposite so you cant go to sleep wirh the curtains opening hoping that daylight will wake you natrually unless you want those across from you seeing you walking in your PJs."

"I was pleased with the room & the location of the hotel. The breakfasts are first class as are the bar snacks/meals. I hadn’t expected my room to be serviced everyday so to return and find my bed made, towels folded ect was a bonus. Excellent experience all round. I am considering visiting the Island with my wife in the future and will definitely be booking my stay at the Empress."

"The hotel is in a very convenient location, close to restaurants and just a 5 minute drive from the ferry port. The hotel car park charge is reasonable but having to pay every day rather than a single payment to cover the stay is a bit of a nuisance. Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast was was good with a wide choice of hot and cold items. The bedroom was a good size and the balcony overlooking the atrium provided a pleasant place to sit. The only extra we would have liked is a few more hangers in the wardrobe. The four provided didn't quite do it."

"We had perfect 3 day stay with attention to every detail by the staff. The very traditional hotel had many original features and I would be hard pressed to find any criticisms. My wife and I were both equally happy with our stay."

"The Penta is a nice, reasonably priced hotel across from the beach. We stayed in room 19, which is considered a ‘large twin’. We didn’t have a view, but the room was spacious,quiet, clean and well maintained. I would warn those with mobility issues that the tub is high and may be difficult to climb out. The free Breakfast was simple but it was all we needed: cereal, toast , juice, coffee and tea. Although there were only a few restaurants close by, we liked the Chinese restaurant next to the casino. The bus stop is across the street, allowing us to get all over the island without difficulty. We highly recommend the Penta. "
