Sunny Side Island Retreat by AvantStay | Backyard

Sunny Side Island Retreat by AvantStay | Backyard

8/10 Good
"The property is very comfortable: 2 king-size beds and a queen make it suitable for groups of adults. There are a lot of accomodations for kids, including toys, games, and utensils - none of which we used, as a group of 4 adults. The interior was very clean upon arrival and sheets/blankets were cozy. The air conditioners were so important! It took a while to figure out the controls (as previous reviews have mentioned). The kitchen is incredibly well-stocked with multiples of everything! On the exterior, the new grill was great to prepare steaks, and we hung out on the front and back decks each day in the sun. I reported 3 issues to the host (AvantStay) by their text messaging service; I received a response on 2 of those - the last one was not acknowledged. Exterior lights in the back yard/deck were inoperable. The screen on the door to the back yard was torn out and allowed insects in, which was inconvenient since it's in the primary bedroom. The lights along the driveway had been driven over and were strewn, broken in the front yard. Most frustratingly, the bushes and landscaping the front and back yard were very overgrown and made the exterior feel unkempt. We had to duck under overgrown blackberry thorns to even get in the front door. Overall, I'd recommend the house as long as you know you're getting a 4-star property with some areas for easy improvement if the owners made the effort."

"Had the best stay. Appreciated the quick and thorough communication, and even accommodating last minute requests. Our 3 year old loved the stay, and told us she wants to go back. Very quiet neighborhood, with great views. Couldn't ask for a better experience."

Multi-family waterfront home with amazing views, deck space & garden

10/10 Excellent
"This was our 5th trip to Puget Sound and I will have to say that it was our most memorable. The grounds of the house were amazing and would have made a memorable stay in and of themselves, until you get to the view of Mutiny Bay, which was truly breathtaking. We collectively tried to find words to describe the insides of the house, using words from unique to eccentric, with each of us commenting on favorites of the different paintings and decor throughout the house. As for the layout of the home, we had 3 couples, one having 2 kiddos with them and there was the feeling of the ability to come together while each group having ample personal space. The proximity to great little towns and amazing restaurants as well as simple access to the airport vs. other stays we have had adds to how amazing this house really is.As we have always tried to experience all the different parts of Puget Sound and so have changed up houses and places, both my daughters requested that we revisit this property as for us it was perfect.P.S. Not wanting to let out an amazing secret, but this was the most magical 4th of July anyone in my family has experienced!"

10/10 Excellent
"Our time at this sweet place was amazing! The cottage is extremely clean, very well furnished both in kitchen, toiletries, plenty of towels. It was important that we were on the water and it was exactly as the photo show. The neighborhood was very quiet and had lots of wildlife: deer, rabbits, seals, bald eagles on a daily basis. We went to Oak Harbor, Langley, and Coupeville… lots of fun, restaurants and interesting shops. I can't wait to go back!"
