"The Beacon is well-priced and a great value! Nothing fancy, but this is a vintage style motel with tons of charm. Like vintage motels, not a lot of room for belongings - a well-placed shelf would be helpful in the bathroom for vanity items. But, it is exactly as expected - small, charming, and perfect for a get-away to the beach. Very nice beach location with easy access (boardwalk through the dunes ) and a nice observation deck at the end of the boardwalk, before descending the stairs to the beach. At the motel, there is a very nice and large outdoor gathering area for relaxing and hanging out in the evenings, suitable for larger groups and also small private seating areas. The room was updated recently and clean, with a very comfortable bed. A few restaurants and stores are within walking distance, but the location is nicely suited in a slower paced section of the island."

"We really enjoyed this place. There was plenty of room for 8 people to spread out. The game room was enjoyable. It was so convenient to have 2 kitchens. We thought we would be doing some other things around the area but the pool, dock, and beach right across the street was too enjoyable to leave! We fished from the dock and the kids caught lots of fish and even crabs. The beds were comfy and the bedding and towels were nice quality. We hope to return next year."

"This condo is set up very nice! I loved the convenience of the kitchen and bathrooms to the rest of the living areas. The dining area was nice with a very large table that seats 6 easily. Also there was a nice view of the ocean from there. The views from the deck were awesome and there was usually a nice breeze blowing. We viewed wonderful sunrises, dolphins and a thunderstorm over the ocean. The beds were a little hard and there was a short supply of towels, but I always travel with extra so we were ok. The cleanliness could have been better as there were some areas that hadn’t been cleaned for awhile, including the lid on the trash can that was filthy, something stuck on one of the freezer shelves, excess lint in the dryer lint trap and rotten food that was left in the bottom of the dishwasher. By the way, there should be directions on how to use the dishwasher as it is real quirky. The kitchen could use some better skillets but otherwise was stocked nicely. The railing around the balcony needs some work, it is a little loose on one side and there is a crack where it is bolted to the wall. The whole unit needs some TLC as paint is chipping and a major fall cleaning is needed. Overall we did enjoy the unit and it does have a lot to recommend it."

"The view was lovely, and the rooms were sufficient, except for the carpet. The carpet in each bedroom was filthy, stained, and left our feet black on the bottoms. The Keurig was broken upon arrival, so we had to get different coffee for the week. We had no air for about 15 hours, but the owner was able to get the maintenance men out to fix it. The grounds at Ocean Club were great and the beach was spectacular. I highly suggest bringing a beach cart if you have little ones. It helps to load chairs, beach toys, Shibumi, etc. to haul out to the beach."
