"This property was the most run down and misrepresented hotel I have ever stayed at. VERY misleading on what it actually is. I can’t believe it is still able to operate from a safety and health standpoint. We had planned to stay three nights but after only one night we bolted and are being denied a refund. Creepy and unsettling is the feeling inside. When checking in the owners and/or staff were just sitting on the couch waiting very strangely and quietly for someone to walk in. At first I thought they were guests as they just stared at me before welcoming me to check in. No uniform or anything that identifies them as associated with the hotel. From the start you could tell it was older and run down but we had no idea what we were about to experience inside of the room. The bathroom was disgusting. Openings in the bottom of the wall where you could see insulation. Cabinet doors were all bolted in very strangely. Found large hole hidden behind a painting that was hug on the wall - in the bathroom! You could see a copper pipe, drywall, and insulation. The door knob to bathroom was so loose it almost fell off when opening door. The wall paper was separating from the wall leaving a unclean gap to the drywall. In the room clear gift wrapping tape was trying to hold on the wall paper around the Greek columns. We could hardly turn the whirlpool on as the handles were so worn. Black specs on bottom and unclear jet pumps. One of the windows even had a broken glass! List goes on!!"

"Waterpark was closed, so that was a bummer and not advertised on Expedia. But the main concern, was the fire alarm went off at 3am and the entire hotel had to evacuate. There was something wrong with the alarm in my room, as it emitted a typical loud fire alarm sound-but for some reason, it also emitted an extremely high pitch sound that was the loudest thing i have ever heard in my life. As I write this the next day, my ears are still ringing horribly. The sound of the alarm after 5 mins of trying to frantically get out of the building while cupping my ears in my room, likely has done permanent damage to my hearing in some Level. I mentioned it to the front desk the next day and told Then that if a baby or child was in that room, it could have serious permanent hearing loss. They gave a “sorry, we will get someone to check it out. Take care.” I come to Dubuque often, but will not Come back here -only because of the damage to my ringing ears."

"It was fine, for the price you’re better off staying across the street. The rooms weren’t super clean, when we arrived another guest had used the bathroom in the pool so the pool was closed, obviously not the hotels fault in general. But in the morning when it was re opened the pool area was still pretty gross, with pieces of I’m assuming diaper, from the accident the night before. The cost of this hotel was about $70 more a night probably because of the splash pad pool area. But we’ve stayed at a hotel right across the street before that was so clean, with a pool area, and the same quality breakfast. So I would save your money, I was grossed out most of the time we stayed there. "

"The place was kept up to a very polished standard. The room was comfortable. There were a number of mechanical sounds emanating from the ceiling. The only downside was that there were a number of kids staying there Friday and Saturday evening and there were revved up and playing in both elevators, slowing down getting up and down ."
