Top Ditchling Museum of Art + Craft Hotel Reviews
Maldron Hotel Brighton City Centre
8/10 Good
"Room was clean. Staff friendly and helpful Only issue is very view and the room was quite small for the price paid."
The White Horse Inn
10/10 Excellent
"Great little budget option in a beautiful little village. We walked into Brighton for a festival and whilst not hugely far (about 12k to Preston), there was a beast of a hill on the route - fun in itself but it was very hot! The pub looked great and the cafe had excellent pastries and cakes which we fortified ourselves with before our walk. We had our own bathroom which was a surprise (even though it was a tiny walk away) and everything was clean and tidy. Point to note - whilst there's not amazing public transport options from Ditchling itself, neighbouring Hassocks has loads (including very late train services) so worth looking into."
The Grand Brighton
10/10 Excellent
"The whole experience was as we hoped nice room great building and the staff were very helpful. Location good generally a great experience."
Morleys Bistro | By Huluki Sussex Stays
8/10 Good
"Great communication. Very easy to locate and get into the room. The car park was really close so straight forward to use. Water, orange juice and porridge pots very much appreciated. Linen & towels lovely! Location good."
The Birch Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms were adequate, though somewhat dated with marks on the walls etc. Breakfast was very good buffet with a nice selection of fruits, cereals and cooked food."
Rural Retreat in deepest Sussex
10/10 Excellent
"Lovely two night stay to attend the wedding of our son in nearby Ringmer. Eugene is a great host with very prompt, helpful and friendly communications. The property was perfect for us in a rural, quiet position. Very well presented, equipped, clean and comfortable. The electric fans were much appreciated to cope with the warm weather at the time of our stay."
The Hickstead Hotel
8/10 Good
"The hotel was clean throughout, however it did look very tired. Gardens not maintained, externals need a lick of paint, no windows or air conditioning in our room, bathroom clean but you could see the knocks/marks. The staff though were excellent, the breakfast comprehensive and a limited restaurant menu offered a good enough choice for an evening meal. There is plenty of parking. This hotel is ideally located for the Hickstead Showground albeit you do have to cross a couple of very busy roads to get there on foot (29 minutes away on foot). Hickstead offer a hotel bus, but it does not come to the Hickstead Hotel. Perhaps the owners could speak to the Hickstead Show Committee. We did speak to a number of folk returning to the hotel for a second or subsequent time, which is clearly a positive. Some were riders family members. The hotel is also planning a major redevelopment, so comments about its tired appearance may well be redundant in 12 months time. All of the staff we met were very friendly. We may well return again. For information we travelled by train to Haywards Heath (lots of trains from central London) with a taxi finishing the trip at a circa £20 cost. All in all a good trip and we met some lovely people."
Tennis Court Cottage Sussex Village South Downs
8/10 Good
"Lovely cottage tucked away in a beautiful village. Very roomy and well equipped. Wish we could have stayed longer."
Self-contained cabin with stunning views!
10/10 Excellent
"I don't think I can praise this place enough. It's even better than in the photos. It is beautifully decorated, pristinely clean, and has lovely welcoming touches throughout the place, including treats, toys and a bowl for my dog. Communication was clear and easy before and during my stay, and when I bumped into Rosie a couple of times she was absolutely lovely (as was Nellie the spaniel!) I loved it so much here for my first two weeks that I immediately booked again to extend my stay. The washing machine and cleaning products available mean you can keep the place clean and tidy. I am sure you can request a cleaner if you felt the need. The shower isn't particularly powerful, but it's only noticeable because the rest of the studio is so excellent. Both I and my dog have felt completely at ease here. The bed is comfortable, the towels are extremely soft, and the kitchenette is well equipped enough that you don't miss having a hob. The milk frother felt like such an add-on that I can't imagine not having a cappuccino each morning with that gorgeous view over the downs. This area of Brighton still has free street parking, but the shops aren't far, the bus routes into town are easy and so many green walking routes are available just a few streets along. The golf course and Wild Park are wonderful and can take you straight up to Stanmer Park, while Withdean Park has a fully enclosed large dog park.If you're visiting Brighton, this is the place to book."
