"First, my room was huge, about 1000 sq ft, with a full kitchen. This place would probably be better suited for long term rentals. The room was 80% clean, but the lobby was very disorganized and dirty. There was also wear and tear damage throughout the hotel, that should be cleaned and repaired. The staff was friendly, but not very engaged; need more hospitality oriented training. There were also some shady characters milling about the entrance to the hotel. Understand it’s Detroit and there’s not much the hotel can do about it, but it’s worth noting. I had a very uncomfortable exchange with someone who wanted to use my phone. Also, you have to pay for parking in a lot across the street. $60 for two nights!
All in all, a decent affordable option, but would be better as a long term rental, they need parking, to fix up the lobby and common areas, and give the staff some more training."
