Island Seas Resort
6/10 Okay
"We knew before booking that this was a discounted, dated property with limited amenities and dining options. We really picked it due to its price point and location on quite a beautiful Freeport beach - which did not disappoint in terms of the view/experience. Beach chairs and tables were plastic and cheap. The bar had limited selections, inconsistent service quality. Restaurant was par to sub-par, with limited, bland menu selections.
The property, overall, is old and in desperate need of structural repairs as well as room updates. Most disappointing were the limited cooking utensils, antiquated room furnishings and, unfortunately for us, a cockroach problem. If you can put up with the negatives, the location and very nice beach might balance things out for you - particularly if you're on a tight budget. Despite the negatives, the price point and location would not necessarily preclude another visit here.

Ocean Reef Yacht Club & Resort

"Staff was great. Very polite and welcoming. The room was stocked with most of the household/kitchen items you would need for a long stay. Note that the wifi IS NOT included and is a charge of $9 a day. Laundry was good, some of the machines in each area were out of service. Car rentals are more economical and I recommend them over their car service. You need a way to get around and the shuttle only runs certain hours. The restaurant was ok, the menu was limited and pricey for what it was. Id recommend Banana Bay, Laroche, Pisces and the Cove Inn. The location of the marina and rooms are great near grocery store and not far is a Costco like store. Gym is great, a bit dated but gets the job done. Pools were good, the pool by the restaurant is the best as the one by the time shares was falling apart the tile was coming off. It appears they are updating many building and amenities. Overall good experience. Just note not all inclusive. The Lucaya Market place is down the street- also note the government recently shut down the Grand Lucayan Hotel and the Carnival Celebration Key have made the island quieter now. Check to see if things are open- usually tied to the cruise ship schedule. Ive been here three years in a row and this year it was not as busy. "

Cozy Eastern Beachfront Villas

"Exceptional Experience! We had an absolutely wonderful stay, truly one of our favorite travel experiences. The cottage is immaculate, beautifully maintained, and thoughtfully equipped with everything needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The peacefulness of the location is simply unmatched. For beach lovers, this is truly a dream destination. The beach and surrounding landscapes, preserved in their natural state, are breathtaking,a rare and unforgettable setting. We also had access to a lounge-style space, a separate small house designed for relaxation, which added a special touch to our stay. What truly made this experience exceptional was our host, Steve. His kindness, generosity, and genuine care made us feel instantly welcomed. We had the pleasure of spending time with Steve and his partner, an experience that made our stay even more meaningful. It allowed us to discover off-the-beaten-path spots and experience the local culture in a truly authentic way. Steve takes great pride in his property and is incredibly attentive and responsive.Beyond that, Steve is a truly human-centered person; he not only takes exceptional care of his guests but also of his community, which adds even more depth and authenticity to the overall experience. The neighbourhood is equally warm and welcoming, which only added to the overall experience. We genuinely feel like we’ve found a place we want to return to anytime!A true gem we highly recommend this property without hesitation"

Flamingo Bay Hotel & Marina at Taino Beach
6/10 Okay
"Good bar, terrible hours (closed by 5pm). Restaurant undercooked EVERYTHING! I tried eating there twice and sent back the food both times. The room was run down and the beds were uncomfortable (could feel springs). The Taino beach resort pool was nice but no tubes were provided for the lazy river. There was no convenience store on the beach at all, had to ride ferry and wait an hour to buy anything. No supermarket even at Port Lucaya so groceries are out of the question. The whole place looks delapidated and forgotten"

"Yes, Bar was well stocked food was available continuously. The only problem was at night the meat was dry. Otherwise the breakfast meals were fantastic. Lunch was great , suppers not so great but good for family. They were a little short of staff. I believe it was hard to get a reservation at a dining room on the facility for evening. "

14ft Centre consul boat and car included Waterfront property with pool.

"What a great place. The host were wonderful. They setup transportation from the airport with a gentleman who was wonderful to talk to and actualy will give you island tours during your stay if you ask. Thier home had a wonderful layout for guest. It was situated on the canal and was able to fit my familys 44ft boat when they joined us from the states. The house was very clean and comfortable and the washer and dryer came in handy later on in the trip. The car they had was perfect for 6 people running around to do whatever you needed. The only thing we had a little trouble with was the stove it seemed to have a mind of its own on how hot it wanted to get so you had to be attentive. We loved the pool even though it was a little cold at times. You are close to a lot of reaurants that were quick little drives, just make sure to make reservations with them a day ahead because they can get busy. Also make sure they are open because we learned were closed Mondays thru Wednesday. The owners do stay on there boat right next to the property but you hardly know there there but are happy to answer and quesrions and point you to some places to check out on your stay. We highly recommend booking with them you will have a wonderful time. "
