"This is a very good hotel. Not superb….but very good. A few things I could pick at, but the biggest is the lighting in the room. Staying over 100 nights a year in different hotels, I’m convinced that the management doesn’t actually STAY in their rooms for a few days. They walk in and look around and think about staying there. But only after you actually STAY in a room for more than a day do you begin to see holes. There are hotels that I don’t expect everything to be right, and I don’t complain. However, at these prices, there should be nothing wrong. The one thing I’ll mention is the lighting in the room. It is odd at best. The biggest thing is that if you want to turn the light on over the bed, you have to have all the other lights in the room off. You can’t have the bed light and the room lights on at the same time. I even called the manager and he tried, and said that it was programmed that way deliberately. It’s annoying….really annoying. And again, normally I wouldn’t care….but at these prices, it shouldn’t be this way. I suspect that Marriott made this decision, so that a person couldn’t turn on all the lights at once and supposedly waste electricity….however… for $400+ a night….I shouldn’t have to say this. Then there is no light over the coffee maker and fridge area. It’s completely dark. Then there is no light above the tub…again….dark. So, overall a very good hotel. But for this price, it should be superb. Mr. Kazi Rubayet deserves praise from management."

"Overall a pleasant stay. Executive twin room was ample size clean and comfortable. Bed and linen was soft and cosy, brilliant sleep ....and im an insomniac. Buffer dinner, not a great selection was more biased with localised dishes. Great coffe in the lobby, but would stay clear of cakes/cheesecakes on display in the cooler....mainly because the cooler is not at optimal temperature...had to send back a cheesecake which was "warm"."

"This is a really nice hotel located right on Cox's Bazar beach. Even though we didn't have an seafront room, we had a junior suite that had wonderful views of the sea from both of our balconies. It's quite a great design to facilitate this. Staff was helpful and friendly...starting with Noor at check in, to Rupak at the breakfast egg station and others whose names I won't remember. Breakfast was good, though very much Bengali favorites heavy. There were two points that were annoying and ought to be addressed by management. One, there were regular power outages. This isn't a problem since a back up power supply kicked in quite quickly. What was a problem was that when the air conditioning was starting up again in our room after a power outage there was quite a loud alarm sound that would sometimes last rather long. This would happen at all hours of the night. There was no way to sleep through it. There must be a way that alarm can be muffled or turned off (I can't understand what the purpose is for it). And the other is that the Wi-Fi was similarly undependable. Not the worst we've had, but it would go in and out with regular needs to sign in again. "
