I booked one category of room and received a confirmation from the hotel that I would have the room that I booked, a Studio King. I received a second confirmation email stating that I had a different room, a Junior Suite booked. To avoid confusion, I called the hotel directly the day before arrival and was told that I had a “silver suite”.
When we arrived for check in, we were told that we had a Studio King. This was not the room described and any of the emails or on the phone. The room was small and extremely dark. There was a tiny corner in an alcove of the room and no lighting anywhere near the closet. We had to request towels. There was a single robe in the room for the two of us.The shower was narrow and difficult to control. We asked about changing to a different room and were told that we could swap the following day but that the room would be smaller.
What was worse was the lack of concern of the entire staff. When we arrived, there were 4 workers standing outside of the hotel in uniforms. Nobody welcomed us or asked if we needed help with our bags. This is the 5th hotel that I have stayed in within a 4 block radius. I will never book the Clayton again.
