The property asks for a key deposit and asks you to return the key upon checkout. I returned the key but did not receive my deposit. "You need to wait"."Have a seat". If i did not have a flight to catch perhaps i would have followed orders lol. Staff is very unprofessional

I kinda appreciate that the hotel shows its age. Especially when you first walk in, it has this historical charm about it. Like your taking a step back into time. But the fact that they still use a room rack and a revolving rack to check guests in and keep track of rooms, is my favorite. No, its not the most modern, fanciest 'yuppie' hotel, but you will find yourself appreciating the history of where we came from. 'Oh if these walls could talk.'

Pros: No deposit on room Cons: unsafe to stay..lock on sliding door not working, screen door ripped off. Unclean room, cigarette butts on headboard, salad left in fridge, burns from cigarette on floor of bathroom and in bedspread. I have pictures

Went to throw away a Kleenex and a cockroach ran out of the trash can. This was three minutes after getting to my room. Check in was so slow I contemplated sitting down on the couch in the lobby. Shouldn’t have smoking rooms and the whole place smelled like one big ashtray, a lot of sketchy people hanging around. Never will stay there again.

Very basic accommodation that has seen better days. Pretty sketchy surroundings. One nice staff member who let us check in early and one very grumpy one when we left early in the morning and we were getting our key deposit back.

I would NEVER stay here again! The place smelled horrible, very dirty and dated carpet throughout, unfriendly and unknowledgeable staff. No type of hygiene products. All the way around quite the dump. I had to give a dollar as a deposit just to get my room key! I feel I should be in store for some kind of refund. Never again!

The room and building was very dirty. There was trash in the halways and elevator. The room hadn't been cleaned after the last occupant.

Pulled in very late due to road construction detouring our drive. As we approached, there were people all over behind the building, and what appeared to be some sort of homeless encampment. We drove through the parking lot and decided that the American Inn wasn't anywhere we'd feel safe parking our minivan, let alone bringing five kids to sleep. My bad for booking (and paying for!) the cheapest hotel I could find without thoroughly reading the reviews. Can't speak to the condition of the hotel or the cleanliness, as we didn't make it in the building. Drove across the road and got a room at the nearby Holiday Inn Express.

The staff was friendly. My balcony door was broken so i notified the front desk and itvwas fixed immediately. The problem was the bathroom was nasty , i had to clean it before i could shower. There was a lot of homeless people in the parking lot but security did run them off each evening.
