This is a traffic jam in the Old City of Delhi . We had to abandon the rickshaw and walk . At the time the refuse workers were on indefinite strike due to the fact that they hadn't been paid for months . There were piles of rubbish everywhere . We were told that the locals deliberately threw rubbish out on the street in "solidarity " with the strikers
