"The staff were really good with an exceptional personal touch. They knew me by name, not room number. My husband was unwell on the first night and I had dinner on my own, the next day they put themselves out to ask after my husband and that ment a lot. Lovely hotel seeped in history and the choice of decore certainly doesn’t let the property down. The museums were closed due to refurnisment so gives us a very good reason to return. Lovely"

"The hotel is VERY tired. It needs a lot of money spending on it, but if it did, it would be fantastic. Staff were really good but not enough of them. The guy on reception seemed to be doing everything. The swimming pool was really good and the gym looked good as well, but I didn’t have time to use it. We had a bar meal which was perfectly fine and a reasonable price as well. I hope the owners spend the money to bring the buildings up to scratch, ( a new coat of whitewash on the outside and complete redecoration on the inside would help immensely). We only stayed one night and for what we paid, it was perfectly fine, but I wouldn’t want to spend more than one night there though…"

"Love this well equipped cottage - very comfortable and cosy. Beds comfortable. Walk through farm land to two pubs. Isolated position.Tips. WiFi very very slow - no good for work calls. And watch out for some very bad pot holes (don’t come here in a sports car!)"
