"The stay was wonderful. There was great communication with the hotel. They reserved a taxi to pick us up from the airport. When we arrive they explained everything with great detail. Alice help us everyday to organize our trip and help us order taxis. Outside of the hotel there are many food and shopping shops. The food was amazing every day. "We had a wonderful stay at the Jingshan Garden Hotel. The staff were so welcoming and helpful. They assisted us in securing reservations for the National Art Museum, which is nearly impossible if you don't have a Chinese phone number or speak Mandarin. The property has the authentic feel of an old Beijing courtyard house, and staying here turned out to be a much more enjoyable and memorable experience than staying in one of the large international chain hotels that we were originally considering. The area around the hotel is charming, since it located in the middle of ancient hutong alleyways. It is just around the corner from the beautiful Jingshan Garden, which has splendid views over the Forbidden City. Our room was lovely, with a spacious and well-equipped bathroom. The beds here were far more comfortable than any others we had on the rest of our trip throughout China. The air conditioner worked well -- much appreciated in the sweltering temperatures of Beijing in June! I also appreciated the nice tea set in our room. The only drawbacks to this hotel are that it is hard for taxi drivers to find and it is at least a 25-minute walk to most restaurants outside of the hotel. We had printed directions in Chinese, but our taxi driver from the airport still had difficulty locating the hotel. There is a restaurant in the hotel and it is beautifully decorated and has a nice view, but it is rather expensive for local standards and it barely offers any options for vegetarians. "

"The rooms are spacious and very quiet - so you can gamer a great night’s sleep. Lovely bed linens and facilities. Plus: All of the beverages and snacks in the mini bar are free - beer, soda etc. And the staff are super friendly. Highly recommend this place!"

Beijing Tangfu Nanluoguxiang Wang Fu Jing Forbidden City Boutique Hotel

"This property is located right in the middle of some Hutongs. It is surrounded by amazing shopping with tons of local food and shops. It is even close to many historical locations such as the forbidden palace and Tiananmen square. Even though the surrounding area, the rooms are quiet and we didn't hear any noise from the street. The rooms are a bit on the small side, but they are clean. They offer inexpensive laundry services every day, which is hard to find when traveling China. Also, the staff was incredibly kind and helpful. They were always willing to answer questions and solve problems. One staff member, Lucy, even helped me order a power bank from her personal account and had it delivered right to the hotel within an hour. Amazing! Highly recommend staying here. (Note: When searching for this hotel on a map, it is called the Tangfu Boutique Hotel.)"

"Very conveniently located, breakfast spread was very good. Friendly reception staff, and in particular, outstanding concierge team. They provided useful information on tours when I queried about them via email before my stay, and haloed to reserve a table at Make in China, the hotel’s Chinese restaurant, in advance. When my teenager girl has problems with the delivery of stuff she purchased on Taobao, concierge staff was very helpful in helping to resolve the matter. But Make in China restaurant is overrated. "
