"Absolutely fabulous from top to bottom. Myself and several brothers stayed a few days here for a bachelor’s getaway and had an unforgettable experience. This is an amazing home that is clean, wonderfully furnished and an extremely considerate and responsive host. I really appreciated the host staying in contact from before the rental date and through it till the end. The host felt like an old friend! The location is ideal for a comfortable getaway adventure for several people. It’s like a home away from but in paradise. Great access to the beach, two fully equipped kitchens that made cooking a breeze and plenty of room to relax after a long day of fishing or hiking. If you are visiting Corolla beach this is the home to stay in. I know my friends and I will certainly return every time we visit the Outer Banks!"

"Absolutely fantastic trip for my family with three teenagers. A great blend of relaxation and things to do. The host was very friendly and responsive. Would highly recommend."
The Salty Seahorse! 4x4 beach, private dock, hot tub, pool, Horses. Pet-Friendly
2/10 Terrible
"This property was not as advertised. Thankfully they refunded our stay. We arrived to a property with several broken down cars, unleashed dogs in front yard, trash and debris all over yard, next to abounded trailer. The pool was unusable and unsanitary, fence falling dog poop all over yard, most screens slashed, chemicals were falling out of sheds with plastic tape unsealed, it was super creepy. Inside it was dirty, dirty feminine products in trash, fridge had bugs in it, floor sticky and beds hand sand in them. Please do not stay here until they fully redo this property, it was unclean and unsafe. "
"I loved the property. Submerged in nature. Was so nice to see ospreys and herons, wild horses everywhere. I loved offroading everywhere, it was so fun. Every turn had a new adventure for me and my dog. The house is tiny but the property is very large. I don't think that should deter anyone. The owners went above and beyond to help me with airing my tires down. They were fantastic hosts. Me and my dog had a great time. "
4x4 Carova, WaterFront, Dock, Wild Horses, Hot Tub
10/10 Excellent
"We had an amazing experience at Under the Oaks. The house was clean and comfortable. We used the hot tub nightly and enjoyed making s’mores by the fire pit. The location was AMAZING! We saw wild horses, a seal, a baby turtle and 2 playful otters during our stay. We definitely recommend the adventure that is 4x4ing it along the beach! "
"We absolutely loved the hot tub on the second story back porch. It faced the yard, not the canal. The place was cozy for two people but no more. There is an induction plate to cook on, so we brought our non-stick induction pan to make life easy. We loved hanging in the hammock in the porch area. We also enjoyed setting on the bench overlooking the canal. Take the exit by the fire station to find the place easily. The flashing tower is a great landmark close to the accommodation. We saw horses, deer, seals, and squirrels while we were there. Nice place and nice people! "
"We recently stayed at this house for our vacation, and while the view is absolutely beautiful and truly one of the highlights of the stay, there were several things that we did not like and feel should be improved. The kitchen was not well equipped—there were not enough cooking utensils, which made it difficult to prepare meals. Additionally, there were a lot of flies, which made it uncomfortable at times. We also noticed that there was no toilet paper provided, so if you plan to stay here, make sure to bring your own. Another inconvenience was that there were no beach towels available.Another important thing to know is that if you do not have a 4x4 vehicle, do not even attempt to drive there. The access requires about 7.5 miles of pure sand, and you can easily get stuck. Also, keep in mind that the nearest store is a little over 30 minutes away, so it’s important to come fully prepared with everything you may need.Regarding the pool, we were unfortunately not able to enjoy it. It was not cleaned during our stay, and despite asking, the heater was not turned on for us.Overall, the location and view are amazing, but the lack of basic necessities, poor maintenance, and accessibility challenges took away from the experience."
