"The staff were so friendly. There is to be a refit very soon, I hope the character and charm of the place, and the wonderful staff will be kept, as it was it's a little bit tatty grandure however I loved our stay here. We had a room with a sea view, looking out over the garden. "

"Very dated decor ( not necessarily Victorian!) so many higgldy pickdly steps and differing floor levels all over the place. Was a pleasant stay but definitely not for anyone with mobility concern. "

"Check-in straight forward and room clean. Evening meal in restaurant was good. Breakfast not so good - very slow service, slow to cook and really felt like they would rather we did not have breakfast there"

"We love Lyme Regis and The Royal Lion Hotel. It is historic and charming.The rooms are large and comfortable.It has a new indoor pool. The food is great. It is in the high street so very close to shops, restaurants, bars,and cafes, and of course the sea and the quaint Cobb. "

The continental breakfast was lacking (would've been nice to have had some yogurt, berries and other fruit options) but the cooked breakfast was a good start to the day. Parking on site was handy and an ideal central location to reach all the restaurants and local spots. "

"Room clean, nice big bed. But stark decor & bathroom needed updating. Very non-smiling lady was my welcome, but there were other frendlier peops on reception. No room service & no food available after 4.30 except in restauranr which was fullly booked... not my idea of hotel service. Nice pool but crowded because not just hotel guests but also a local health club. So that hotel/spa feeling non-existant. Disappointing stay, wouldnt recommrnd unless u want sports bar/health club feel to a hotel."
