"My stay was peaceful and relaxing. Just what I needed. The room exceeded my expectations with a lovely view of Superior. It was the perfect place to watch the clouds role in over the big lake with my coffee and a sketch book. You could tell November was on the horizon. "

"The experience was perfect. The kitchen, bathroom, and bedrooms were beautifully decorated and comfortable. It had everything we needed. The fireplace stones lived up to its name, Painted Rock. Proximity to the sights and sounds of Lake Superior was just outside the door. "

"I was very nervous after reading the reviews but we had a great stay. It's nothing fancy but the staff was great, the room had a beautiful view and it served its purpose. This location alone is worth the price we paid, which you're not going to find cheaper in Grand Marais. I mean, you're next door to World's Greatest Doughnuts! Maybe we just got lucky with our specific room but I think alot of the people in these reviews expected a 5 Star resort and just love to complain, but you get what you pay for! I would stay again! "
