Welcome to Sunset Sanctuary, a house designed to calm the mind and recharge the spirit! The wood stove fireplace is cozy, the sunsets are breathtaking and you may even see a whale! Gray Whales pass by during their migration and Pilot Whales live in the area year-round! The nearest beach access is just a block away. There is an access road that leads down to Preston Island. This is a rocky beach for the most part but there are sandy stretches for a pleasant walk with your pet (which we are happy to host!). Enjoy the majesty of the waves crashing against the nearby rocks and cliffs! The nearest swimming/surfing beach is Crescent Beach just about a 5-minute drive away! Crescent City's newest vacation rental in the most amazing oceanfront location! Relax with the whole family at this peaceful place to stay. Wonderful Place

We loved our stay here! Shawn thought of everything one would need to have a home away from home. We loved the view and all the wonderful music, books, and games. Views are incredible and we hope to stay again!

Fabulous stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here in March and the views were incredible! Communication was so easy with the owner and we made great memories! We felt so comfortable and the home is beautiful. I highly recommend his home!

Crescent City North

We had a great stay at Crescent City North. Very clean property with amazing views! Close to Redwood National Park. The kitchen is well stocked and the beds are comfortable. The owner/host was very responsive and helpful with recommendations around the area.

Great place - Incredible Views

Great spot and great host. The pictures do not do the views justice. Could have just stayed there for weeks and watched and listened to the ocean and waves. Really fantastic.

Pefect beach home close to Redwoods

Our group of 11 had a wonderful stay. The veiw from the home is impressive to say the least. Short little walk dow to the beach to explore. Close to restaurants and the Redwoods. We would highly recommend staying to anyone. The host was very responsive and helpful. I hope we get to stay again someday.

Sunset Sanctuary is so accurate!!!

The patio is so private and relaxing. We wondered about only bathrooms and it was never an issue! We spent more time in this rental than out and about because it was so beautiful and the view from morning fog to evening sunset and midnight moon never disappointed!!

Redwoods trip

This house was really cute & the covered outdoor deck was fabulous. The host sent a lot of information about the area and was very available during our visit. We only stayed 2 nights but wish we could have stayed longer. The personal attention and small touches makes this house a gem.

Wonderful View

We spent most of our time on the deck while at the house. It was very cozy and homey. We had a group of 9 and had plenty of room. Property owner was very responsive and informative.

Fell asleep listening to the ocean

Such a gorgeous view! The porch and deck were great for all of us to hang out and enjoy the evening. Really appreciated that we were able to bring our dog and the little additional touches to help out dog owners (bags and hose to wash paws).

Little piece of oceanic heaven

Property is super easy to get to. Checking in and out is seamless and Shawn is super helpful to ensure it goes as such, too. Kitchen is well stocked. With everything the icing on the cake is the back patio. The views, the sounds, the peaceful nature of the ocean are amazing! Thank you Shawn for being an awesome host. A favorite for sure!

Amazing view

We stayed in this beautiful house with our small dog and practically lived on the covered back porch. It was spring so not too warm yet but the porch is so protected we were just fine spending time out there. In fact we ate out there every night. The pictures don't lie - the view is incredible and the house is very cute and well set-up. The owner checked in with us a few times but the house had everything we needed and we'd love to come back!

Great views, excellent location, and comfortable place.

Sunset Sanctuary is exactly as described. My wife and I spent 3 weeks there in Feb. '24. Loved watching the changing seas, whale watching from the deck or living room, and hiking in the Redwoods nearly every day. The location couldn't be better. Shawn was a great communicator and worked with me to accommodate a late change in booking dates due to a family emergency. Crescent City is one of our favorite locations and this was a perfect place to enjoy it. I hope to return again.

Lovely, comfortable home on the ocean

We (2 couples and one child) had a wonderful stay at Sunset Sanctuary! The home was clean and bright with amazing views from the living room and upper bedrooms. It was well furnished and comfortable. The porch was a perfect spot to rest and spot whales out of the wind. The wood stove kept it very cozy. The kitchen was clean and had everything we needed. We have stayed at several ocean front rentals in Crescent City over the years and are most likely to re-book this one with a group.

This was such a cute little cottage-like beach house on the older side but very functional and beautiful. The view of the beach was amazing! We all were very happy with choosing this home over a hotel.

Beautiful house in a great location right on the beach! Perfect for our friends getaway. The deck space is amazing and the glass walls keep the area warm and protected from the wind. Short walk down to beach, perfect sunset views, an all around great place to stay.
