My three friends and I have been doing an annual guys trip for years. We started using Vrbo properties almost 10 years ago. We stay in 3 to 4 properties each year and this house is in all our top 5s. The house was clean and comfortable. The private back yard/deck are great for hanging around the house and the location had several places within walking distance to get food. If I’m ever in Crescent City again I will be looking to book this house

This is honestly one of the best VRBO experiences we've had. Warm, welcoming touches provided, snacks & coffee bar, music playing on Alexa when we arrived, beautifully furnished home, and great proximity to beach and Redwoods. We had a short stay in Crescent city wanted a place we could crash as a family of eight. Marshawn‘s home was perfect for what we needed. It had all the amenities and more and was close to shops and restaurants. Marshawn was quick to respond to any issues and made us feel comfortable in his home. Lovely unique stay in Crescent City

We stayed only one night at Marshawns place but wish we could have stayed longer! Lovely home in a great location, super accessible to anything you need in Crescent City and as a launching point to explore the Redwood forests. Marshawn was a communicative and responsive host who (with a few unique/memorable touches inside the home) made this a special stay that we’d love to do another time!

Crescent city get away

We loved our stay. Perfect location for what we needed. We headed into Jedidiah state park for the redwoods. House met all our needs for sleeping the age ranges we had from 12 year old up. Kitchen well stocked for our cooking needs. Loved the ease of checking in/out. Communication with owner couldn’t have been a better experience. Would definitely recommend and stay again if I found myself back in the area.

When Can We Come Back?!

We loved our stay here so much that we are trying to plan when we can come back again! This home was so clean, cozy, and perfect for our family. The kids were so excited about the games, the bunkbeds, and the fire pit in the backyard (which we sadly didn't even get to use because it was rainy). I loved all the thoughtful amenities in the kitchen (including pancake mix!) and laundry room, and they had luxurious clean towels and bedding. The communication was also top-notch. We absolutely loved staying here and can't wait to see if we can stay again for our next visit to Cresent City!

Very clean home that is comfy and has everything you need. Neighborhood a bit rough . Very close to grocery store.great fridge and washer/dryer. Kitchen well stocked. Lots of little cosmetic issues with some of the diy projects like trim and flooring not meeting up well. Deck has multiple nails sticking up so watch your toes. Overall a nice place though.

Great house for young children + Lots of perks!

Marshawn is such an amazing host! He is so thoughtful and provides lots of extras things that you might not typically have at a Vrbo. This house was so great for our family! Video games for our children to enjoy, the Disney+ subscription led to us discovering two new movies that our family now loves, the boogie boards were a fun addition to our ocean playtime, our children loved using the laundry chute, the Amazon devices were an added convenience for our family since we already use them at our house. We also appreciated the dining guide Marshawn provided us as our stay at his Vrbo approached—we found a great place for inexpensive ice cream! We loved that this house had things for our young children to do. That makes a big difference in how we feel about being at the house. This house is a place in which we wanted to spend time. The check-out process is really simple and easy. We had some hiccups during our stay with the Amazon devices, but we loved this house. The kitchen and living room are very spacious. Marshawn focuses on making the experience great for his guests, and he really did made it feel like a vacation for our family. So many things were already at the house, so we didn’t need to provide them ourselves, and we hardly had to do anything at check-out. We highly recommend the Modern Vintage!

Family Vacation to Redwoods and Beaches

Lot of stairs that were not to modern code (old house) with being different heights and creaking. Beds were comfy. Was able to fit large group in the home. Close to businesses and other outdoor activities. Had a nice backyard though we never used it. Lots of homeless people wandering past the house. Off of a busy one way 3 lane road. Our main issue with the house was having an older couple have to go up the not friendly stairs to the queen bed up there. (Double bed on main). We also had a family member who broke her foot right before the trip and had to crawl up into the home due to poor low handrails and such. Floors need to be reinstalled by a professional. Most rooms the flooring never touched the walls. Corners and edging not cut well at all. Uneven/level flooring. Otherwise we enjoyed the home. The kids loved the karaoke mic, pac man machine, and Atari. We enjoyed the large table for games. Nice fridge for your items. Washer and dryer well functioning. Nice farmhouse large kitchen sink. Bathrooms updated some. Did see really dusty gross vent next to toilet that was rusty looking too. If you aren’t paying attention to all the details than this house is actually pretty nice. For that reason we are giving it 4 stars.
