Make your way 5 minutes the opposite direction and find yourself at the banks of the serene Smith River, one of the cleanest rivers in the nation with its pristine undamned emerald waters. This river is well known for its seasonal fishing and guides. Towering over the river and surrounding land you'll find the majestic old growth redwoods. Such a great stay!

We had the best experience staying here during our trip to the Redwoods. The hosts were more than accommodating, providing everything we needed for a comfortable stay and more. The studio is just like the pictures! Very clean, quaint and cozy. The location is wonderful for doing so much exploring in Northern California and Southern Oregon. Highly recommend!!

Easy stop on our road trip

The place was great for what we needed. It was a good stopping off point on our West coast road trip. It was very clean and comfy. The bed is incredibly soft, so keep that in mind if you need a firmer bed. Bonus points for the cute horse neighbors we had. The host was very communicative and gave us a ton of recommendations.

Great stay! Highly recommend. Not far from the beach and redwoods. Communication was prompt and easy to get ahold of owners. Thoughtful card & basket of goodies for our anniversary! So kind. We’d stay again if we’re back in the area!

Exactly what we needed

This place was perfect for our family of 4! It was perfectly clean when we arrived. You can tell so much has been invested into making this space comfortable and convenient for guests. The beds were very comfortable, so we were well-rested during our whole vacation. We really appreciated the washer and dryer being available so we didn't have to over-pack. This location is truly a dream, being so close to the woods as well as the ocean. A perfect place to stay! We hope to return soon.

Perfect base for NoCal Redwood adventures

What a well appointed and comfortable place to stay! An easy, brief drive to the redwoods - from my base I drove Howland Hill Road after getting into town, visited Kellogg Road Beach for sunset, enjoyed a hearty breakfast at the Hiouchi Cafe, joined a guided white water paddle on the Smith River, then make my way further south for more redwoods. The bed is like a cloud, I was able to do a quick load of laundry, and the hosts were incredibly communicative while also giving me space. This barndominium between the beach and big trees was a highlight of my vacation!

We loved staying in The Cozy Country Retreat. It is such a beautiful property, with updated furnishings and decor. It has such an inviting, open floor plan, with everything we needed to make us feel at home. It is on the second floor so we could leave our windows open at night and feel secure. It had a very comfortable, king size bed, and all of the linens, bedding, and entire living space was immaculately clean. We loved having a garage underneath the our living space to park our car. It also had a very nice washer and dryer, with soap included so we could do our laundry. This was an outstanding location for visiting the Redwoods National and State Parks. We would definitely stay again. Our host was wondering too!

Perfect for our family of 4. We wanted to be in the middle of the Redwood State Parks and this location was perfect! The studio was smartly designed and super clean. Loved the fresh eggs in the fridge, what a great touch Coco!! The bed and bedding was super comfortable. We had everything we needed. Would stay again and hope to in the future!

This VRBO is great. It's a very large studio that is contemporary and has everything you need. We had 4 adults and all were very comfortable. The host is amazing and even provided fresh eggs from their chickens. The location is close to many Red Wood trails and sites as well as good food in Crescent City. We would highly recommend.

Absolutely INCREDIBLE

We cannot say enough about our stay here! From the very beginning, communication was great and we found the location without any issues at all. Upon arriving, the rental unit was extremely clean, light bright and organized. The furniture and decor is lovely.Everything you could possibly need in the kitchen and bathrooms was available. Their sweet daughter even left farm fresh eggs from their property for us to enjoy! Little condiment, spices, seasonings, coffee, creamer, etc. all available as well.The bed was extremely comfortable. I don’t think we’ve slept on a bed that comfortable ever! My twin daughters reported that the pull out couch bed was extremely comfortable as well. All of the bedding, linens, towels- extremely high-quality, soft and lovely.Having laundry accessible was a wonderful perk, and we took advantage of many of the local recommendations given to us. We felt safe the entire time and cannot say enough about our stay. Anyone considering it should absolutely stay here. Thank you so much!

Awesome space!

We loved our stay here! We had everything we needed and loved all the space and large, comfortable bed! The space was very clean. We enjoyed the use of a washer and dryer (w/complimentary detergent). The host was an excellent communicator and responded quickly to our questions and also provided suggestions on things to do in the area. We could've easily stayed here an entire week!

Lovely, cozy studio near Crescent City and Jedediah Park

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here while visiting the redwood parks in Northern California. The apartment was delightful. The furnishings were comfy and attractive and the host had apparently given a lot of thought into the comfort of their guests based on the amenities and personal touches they provided. It was a perfect spot to retreat to after spending the days in the woods. It was quiet and we slept very well. We would definitely stay again on future trips.
