**newly installed solar power** If you are looking for the perfect Up North rustic weekend get away we have the perfect spot for you. Nestled back in the woods off the beaten path up in the small little town of Prentice WI is CCR Rustic Retreat. This quaint little off-grid cabin is found on the side of our family’s cattle ranch. It's the perfect "farmcation" spot. It's a studio style A frame connected to hundreds of acres of trails. The land provides access to the Price County snowmobile trail and the ATV route. You can hike, snow shoe, cross country ski, ride wheeler, snowmobile, UTV, or even horses to the 6 1/2 acre private lake that’s secluded further back on the property. Where you can take out the paddle boat or kayaks for a relaxing afternoon on the water. Wake up in the morning to enjoy your coffee on the front deck overlooking the field of cattle and/or horses. You can hike the woods and forage for lunch, we provide books for this adventure to make sure you are safe. You can go berry picking for a sweet snack. Kids can wade in the creek and build fairy gardens and houses. It truly is a magically place! Have a picnic on the dock, or in the picnic area by the historic 100+ year old beaver dam that holds the chain of lakes together. Wake up in the morning and collect eggs from our chickens and quail for a protein packed breakfast. We can arrange for a whole ranch life experience. Help feed the animals, when it’s season, tend to and enjoy the fresh garden, if it’s calving or foaling season you can even help witness the miracle of birth. There are hundreds of acres at your disposal to explore and find adventure.

While there is no indoor plumbing, the cabin is equipped with solar, and an outhouse. There is a black stone, fire pit available for cooking and a Kurig for your morning cup of coffee. You can bring your horses up and park them in a small paddock out the front door. There is water available with hose access across the 40, up by the barn. In the warmer months we can bring a 300 gravity tank for water access on site for longer stays.

We also offer bear, coyote, bobcat, and grouse hunting packages. You can have the opportunity to see abundant wildlife including deer, bear, coyotes, bobcat, smaller woodland creatures, and a multitude of feathered friends. We offer “farm fresh food” packages including home grown beef, pork, and fresh quail and chicken eggs from our own farm.

We are with in 20 miles of many lakes and rivers for fishing opportunities, as well as amazing sight seeing opportunities like Timm’s Hill and Big Falls. Also it connects to public land that is land locked, as well as close to other public land like the National Forest
This is a working farm, there will be farm noise.

It is also Northwoods Wisconsin. There are bugs, ticks, and woodland creatures everywhere.

Four wheel drive is required.

There is only one word to describe our stay. Perfect! Was exactly what we were looking for! Quite, clean, and exactly as described. Communication was top notch! We explored the property and the surrounding areas relaxing in the beauty of the fall colors. Thanks again

Cabin is off the grid as it's described so if u looking for any comfort-its none. There was no water, lady offered to drop it in the morning but we already bought it. There was no microwave, no table outside just 2 small benches. Outdoor toilet was dirty and all cabin wasn't clean to standard. There is bunk beds no regular bed no fridge so bring ice. We couldn't find pond or creek but it was raining anyway. We spend most of the time in Phillips for food.

After good communication with the owner we arrived at the cabin. We met a gentleman that gave us a quick rundown….. The location is somewhat remote. Saw lots of wildlife on the way to the cabin. We were disappointed upon entering the cabin It smelled like something .had died recently The pics are older…. There is no usable back porch. It’s rotten and unsafe. The screens are torn and missing. You couldn’t open the windows to air the place out because the windows didn’t have screens either. The cabin was clean on the inside but we could not stand the stench. The outhouse smelled better. We grilled lunch on the flattop and left Not sure about the reviews as they seem fake based on our trip There is definitely room for improvement unfortunately

Great cabin in the middle of no where!! Just like I wanted. Amazing sunrise and sunsets over the pond. Stars are amazing to sit and look at next to a campfire. Nice trails to walk through the property, rocks that are amazing. Then just down the road is a creek you can explore, cold fresh water, lots of next rocks.One of the best trips I’ve done in a couple of years.

I booked a stay at Kristy’s cabin for a long weekend. It was fun to get away from the city for a couple days, unplug, and connect with nature. Kristy’s property was everything it was advertised to be. She was a wonderful and responsive host, generously offering the experience to feed the farm animals and to take the kayaks out for a spin on the pond. It was super convenient to be able to bring our dog along on the trip. All three of us had the best time! Plenty of hiking trails to keep us busy! We visited in June so my advice if you are visiting over the summer is to make sure to pack extra bug spray and long sleeves/pants/socks. The cabin is in a very wooded area, so bugs are to be expected! The cabin itself was very clean, quiet, and isolated. Simple and had everything we needed. The bed was also very comfortable and I got a peaceful night’s sleep. We wanted to explore the surrounding area too and found a cute coffee shop and yummy burger place for lunch in Tomahawk. This stay was just what we needed! I would recommend Kristy’s cabin to anyone looking for an experience somewhere in between a hotel and camping. It’s a great in between option! Can’t wait to visit again one day!

We were looking for a quick get away with the dogs where we could disconnect, wander and relax. This little cabin did the trick. We hiked some of the many trails in the area (didn't even scratch the surface) saw plenty of wildlife and no other people. Enjoyed or stay very much!

Kristy and her husband Jim were amazing hosts. Kristy fully disclosed any issues with the cabin ahead of time. The property was just beautiful!! So nice to explore so many acres and have no neighbors or restrictions on noise. We took a drive back by the pond and got our vehicle stuck and Jim came to the rescue right away! Even went foraging too! Great stay and awesome hosts!
