"The hotel is perfectly positioned as a base for the caves and mill. The rooms are clean and the staff helpful. Catering is a little quirky as the restaurant can't accommodate large numbers wanting to eat at the same time. We had an issue with a booking for dinner which they then could not honour, so we had to call in a pizza when already late, and then our pre-booked breakfast could not be accommodated without negotiation upon which we were given half an hour for a family of 4. It was fine and worked, but perhaps a few protocols around bookings from 3rd parties need tightening. The kids loved the pancake machine at breakfast and it was a fun, family orientated setup."

"The hotel rooms are very high up. We had 81 steps up to our floor. The lift was broken for all 3 days of our stay, so if that is a problem for you, then you could consider calling them ahead of time to see if the lift is working. It was on the blink the previous time we stayed also, but that time it worked while we were there. I simply found a trick to holding the button down so that the lift came, and the button was only acting up on the ground floor. Other than that, it is a wonderful hotel."
