"The whole mood and feel of this “ boutique “ hotel was eclectic, romantic, you felt you were in a different time period. Very “Moulin Rouge”.
Greeting staff, warm, friendly and efficient.
The darling little cocktail lounge called the “ Candy Bar” was tiny but dreamy, specialty cocktails worth their price. It was busy for a Tuesday night, mostly locals, nice calm atmosphere, dim lights glammy decor.
Our room was tiny but it worked. 1920’s type decor.
The bathroom…. Cool!
Nice hot shower with a big rain shower head.
Nice touches to a simple room with a good bed & linens. Plush towels and the scent of the hand soap was intoxicating. I felt the room was above average clean.
You could hear outside noises, the tram… for me, it added to the charm of being in a city, marinating in a 1920’s/1930 vibe.
We were a very short walking distance to the venue, Filmore Theater and The Fox Theater. We felt safe walking to and fro.
The valet service was worth its own weight. Parking can be a nightmare in any city and costly.
Although parking was $50, for me it’s worth it.
So, with the valet, short walking distance to the theater, very reasonable room rate… it made it a seamlessly perfect outing for 2 middle aged country folk, going to the big city.
The valet, Yousif was efficient and helpful retrieving our car, engaging and courteous as he sent us on our way.
Cozy sitting areas.A little gem in the lobby for specialty coffee, pastries and other light fare.
I would most certainly go back."
"We were in town for the MSU game at Ford Field. This location was perfect for walking to and from the game, even in the snow. I appreciated that the casino and hotel were in separate buildings and the skyway was a nice connector. We ate at a few restaurants in Greektown and they were really good. Rooms were clean, but could definitely hear the loud hallways sounds as people came back to their rooms in the middle of the night. "
"The hotel was beautiful. We arrived before check in and they accommodated us with an upgraded room and early check in. Great gym, study room, dry cleaning service, lots of restaurants in hotel and around the area. An overall excellent experience. "
