Adventure awaits! Nestled on 1.3 acres, this quaint and quiet cabin is perched amongst spruce, pine, and aspens. The sunset views from the porch swing and deck will bring about a sense of peace and calm and will call to you like a siren song, long after you've returned home. The location of our cabin makes it a perfect "hub" to access a vast array of your Colorado adventures.
✦Accommodations: Our cozy 3 bedroom 1.5 bathroom cabin offers 1250 square feet of thoughtfully furnished space. Nestled on 1.3 acres of a hillside you'll feel as though you're relaxing amongst the treetops while also having a walk-out adventure into a forest. We have recently updated the cabin with all-new furniture, linens, beds, art, paint, and a brand-new walk-in shower. Two queen beds and a twin bed with a pull-out trundle offer ample space for sleeping. Our cozy beds will help you dream of coming back again! A designated desk/workspace is located in the primary bedroom if you desire a place to work remotely. We have high-speed internet that will allow you to work and stream if you need to be in a Zoom meeting. The kitchen is well equipped with pots, pans, utensils, spices, and dishes so that you can cook a simple, hearty or intricate meal, or you can head out to dinner at one of the recommended local restaurants. The dining table seats 6 comfortably and after enjoying a meal you can kick back on the leather couch and watch your favorite show on the 55 on a smart TV. On colder nights we have a wood-burning stove that really makes it toasty in the house! Play board games with your family and friend or we have everything you need to practice your yoga!
✦The Outdoors: We have a porch swing that pairs nicely with a hot cup of coffee or tea in the morning, and your beverage of choice in the evening where you can enjoy a stunning sunset that is different every night and almost never disappoints. The large deck has ample seating between the table with the umbrella, the turquoise picnic table, the rocking chair, or the bench seat. String lights illuminate with a warm ambiance on cool evenings, and present a glow by which you can practice your grill master skills on the gas grill. The fire pit can be used ONLY when there's not a burn ban in effect, please adhere to local laws as Colorado is a wildfire state. Behind the house, you can adventure out onto the 1.3 acres, play a game of horseshoes or relax on the spider web tree swing. Once the sun goes down, turn off the string lights and enjoy the immensely dark skies where you can wander through the stars of the Milky Way.
🐻🦊🦌Local Wilderness: Colorado is known for its amazing wilderness and you'll likely get to see some during your stay. Please note, there's an abundance of mule deer, they are wild, please do not feed them or leave any food out for any wildlife as it will attract bears. There are also chipmunks, squirrels, hummingbirds, rabbits, elk, mountain lions, and a special pack of donkeys that live on the other side 42. One, in particular, we've affectionately nicknamed "Hank" who greets each day with a hee-haw!
✦Weather and Vehicles: In the winter, it's highly advisable to have a Wheel Drive or 4-Wheel Drive vehicle to access our cabin. The roads in and out of the neighborhood are regularly plowed but do have fairly steep grades. The driveway to the cabin will also be plowed about once per snowfall yet there's no way to determine the exact timing of such an event. Please be advised to make smart travel decisions and note that the cancellation policy remains in place and will NOT be changed subject to the weather.
✦Pets: We would be delighted to host you and your qualified pet. Behind the garage is a 16x30 ft dog-run enclosure so you can let your pup outside and off the leash. Please inquire prior to booking so we can make sure your pet qualifies and you can review our pet policy. We ask that you limit it to two dogs. Let us know how old, how many pounds, spayed or neutered, and the breed. We also ask that you keep your buddies off the furniture, and off the beds. Please pick up after them. There is an additional pet fee for qualified pets to help us cover the costs for the cleaners to keep the space fresh and clean for our next guests. We look forward to having you! Guests will have access to the house, decks, and the 1.3 acres of land the house sits on. Please note that there are NOT boundary fences separating our property from the neighbors. Please be respectful not to wander onto the neighboring properties.

Enjoyed our stay, especially loved the deck area. It was shaded much of the afternoon and safe for our two miniature schnauzers to roam around.

We spent our anniversary at this house and couldn't have been happier. Beautiful location with a view of the mountains and even woke up to deer hanging out in the backyard every morning. We had a great time and would definitely consider coming back to stay here again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at your lovely cabin! It was a perfect spot for us to start our adventures each day…conveniently located between many of the places we wanted to visit on this trip. We spent time relaxing on the deck, grilling, enjoying the beautiful views from the porch swing and venturing out to The Royal Gorge, Garden of the Gods, Helen Hunt Falls, The World War II Aviation Museum and more. Thank you for making us feel at home in this wonderful retreat!

Beautiful place! Beautiful location in the mountains with deer wandering thru the property! Cabin had everything we needed and we had such a fun, memorable stay there! We also really appreciated the thoughtful touches like the dog treats, dog bowls, games, books, and extra toiletries if someone had forgotten their own at home. We would definitely recommend this place to others! Thank you!

Property was exactly as listed. Enjoyed the porch swing at sunset. We opened the windows upstairs and the fresh air breeze was so refreshing. We saw mule deer in the evening. Short drive to Colorado Springs. Garden of the Gods was spectacular. The Wolf and Wildlife Center feeding tour is a must see and is only 5 minutes away.

This little cabin was absolutely perfect!! My wrote and I spent our anniversary this weekend and had such a great time. It was close enough to Colorado city that all the amenities were close by. But far enough away to feel like you were really "getting away" the Wolf sanctuary is literally 4 minutes away. (That's what bright is there) the hosy "wendy" was AMAZING!!! The house was 100% clean!! Which is a big deal to us. I would 1000% recommend this cabin in the woods!!

Our family needed a retreat from the city and time to recharge. We found very modern and comfortable accommodations in this charming and well stocked rural cabin with an outdoor grill, propane fireplace, large deck, dog run, indoor wood burning stove, and 3 large(for a cabin) bedrooms. The kitchen is modern and well stocked, wifi was strong enough to stream and surf the web by all of us and without interruption. Location allows a long walk or hike without driving. Very pleasant overall stay!

This beautiful and modern cabin was totally what my husband and I needed after 7 days of hiking in Colorado and New Mexico. Cozy, yet beautifully appointed. Amazing kitchen, pantry and laundry room. We played horse shoes and saw a mule deer. We grilled out steaks on a very nice grill. Best part though, was the front porch and deck with breathtaking mountain views.Sunset is the best, hence the name Sunset cabin. 30 minutes from Pikes Peak, and 5 minutes from convenience/ grocery stores and gas stations. Highly recommend!

This home in the woods is gorgeous and comfortable with beautiful mountain vistas, aspen and evergreens all around, and lots of space to relax...whether outside on the decks or by the fire pit or indoors in the spacious living area and quiet bedrooms. It's convenient to the wolf sanctuary (highly recommended), hiking trails, grocery store in Divide, and even Cripple Creek and Woodland Park for more amenities. The kitchen has everything and then some, the bathrooms have toiletries and plenty of towels, the beds provide peaceful slumber, and there are so many little extras that you'll delight in. My favorite place to be was the front porch swing with a book and a cup of cocoa. You simply won't want to leave!

We enjoyed our stay. The cabin was fine and the setting lovely. It's in a cabin neighborhood. Easy access to the sights nearby. We went in May to beat the rush, but caught the end of the snow. Wendy got our drive plowed within a couple hours of the snowfall. It was all good.
