Good hotel for one or two nights in Cologne. Just steps from the historic center, the most beautiful part of the old city. The service from the staff was excellent. It is true that the rooms are a little dated but they are clean and comfortable. Less than a five minute walk away I was able to see one of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen.

A terrific hotel for the price. It is about three blocks to the river and the old city. We were met by three charming guys at the desk who spoke excellent English. They directed us to parking (free and right outside the hotel) and terrific restos. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was simple and just fine.

The hotel is situated in the center of the town , is beautiful, old building, is not renovated rooms are very small need to be adjust to needs. The elevator is very old it brakes all the time . Very clean . We had good time

Great hotel in a scenic town
Lovely room, great bed. Good location with everything you need within walking distance. Breakfast is basic but sufficient to fill you before exploring. Walking distance to ferry and bus terminal.

Property was clean and in a good location close to everything and had a great restaurant across the street I’d recommend. The AC worked great but the beds were rock hard and uncomfortable. The shower head was detached from the holder but didn’t have enough hose to use it like a detached shower head so you had to hold it up with your hands above your head to get anything from it. Super awkward way to shower to say the least.

The hotel is in a great location. It's a 10 minute walk from the bus and ferry terminals. And it is on the main street where you will find restaurants, cafes, supermarkets etc. It's a short stroll to the old part of town. The room was quiet and overlooking the pool. The breakfast had a range of breads and pastries plus two types of cereals and fruit. The staff were friendly.

I thought that this hotel was a lot of money for what it offered. The bed was pretty comfortable, but the furniture was all ver old and needed cleaning. The rug on the floor was stained and the walls were super dirty and needed painting. The showers had hot water, but pretty low water pressure. The locks were also very old and they did not make my room feel the most secure. I could also hear everything that the people in the room next to us said as the adjoining door and walls were very thin. The TV in our room was small and did not even turn on. Overall, I felt that my stay was okay, but don't know if I would choose to stay that this hotel again.

Great stay
Older building but keeping in style with Colonia in general. Lovely hotel with a great complimentary breakfast. Room was big, with terrific air conditioning, comfortable bed and a good amount of storage space. Bathroom was compact and clean and the only disappointment was the shower pressure, not strong enough or hot long enough. Great position in town, close to all attractions and restaurants and about a 8 minute walk from the ferry/bus terminals. Staff were friendly and helpful....

Good location and reasonable value for money
Hotel location excellent - just a 10minute gentle uphill walk from the port and right in the heart of the old historic town. Plenty of restaurants, bars, bike rentals and ATMs within a 5minute walk from the hotel. Staff were superb. Concierge (via HOM) were able to help organise tickets that we wanted for the Montevideo carnaval and they were ready and waiting for us at reception when we checked in. They also went to the trouble of sending a picture through, via email, of the tickets to prove they had obtained them before we arrived. Also worth highlighting the staff who look after breakfast and are constantly replenishing items, clearing tables and ensuring everyone has a seat/table and running a orderly list if people need to wait for a seat/table. The staff worked really hard to keep on top of a busy breakfast restaurant. I also loved that every fresh breakfast item had tongs to use (rather than guests sticking their hands all of them). Not all guests used them (no surprise there) but at least the hotel are taking the right steps. Disappointed that there wasn’t a safe in each room to store valuables - maybe something I should have checked on the hotel facilities beforehand. Pool area was clean (and regularly cleaned each day) but there were no shower facilities at the pool (before going in the water) so I wasn’t too sure how clean the pool was itself.

This hotel is old and not well maintained. Staff are okay but very disengaged. My room/bed had a strange smell. Included breakfast has the basics - not many options. And there is no parking. The best feature is its location but there are many options in that area. I don’t think I would go back to this hotel.

The staff was great, so it's location. I stayed at the new building, very good, new and clean bathroom. The only two things I would recomend improving are: put a phone in the room, so when the guest needs to talk to the reception we dont need to go downstaurs and second put a free-go-bar in the room so we can refrigerate any stuff we want. I do recomend the hotel.

This place could be good as it's in a great location, only a few mins from the old town and 7 min walk from the boat terminal, it has a pool and been modernised in parts, it offers a good enough breakfast for this type of hotel, rooms were clean and comfortable, though small. But it's only ok as it's nowhere near as nice as the pictures and not great for the price. It needs a good clean and a lick of paint in communal areas to bring it up to standard for this price range

Good option in Colonia
Colonia is a lovely town and worth spending the night -- not just a day trip from BsAs. The Royal Hotel location is super convenient and staff is friendly. Rooms are pretty basic and WiFi was spotty. However, they offer almost 10 different WiFi options so usually one is working. Rooms are pretty basic with no frills. But they're clean.
