"Not as described at all. Lamp were rusty. Staff was dismissive. Checked out after giving it a day just to give them a chance because of the location. But they ride on that. Even a refund and early check out they made it hard. Not fitness room. More of a fitness closet not machine worked. Three bikes :("

"The beach view from the first floor was limited. The room had some maintenance issues (the smoke detector and one of the blinds). The breakfast included was basic but ok. The room was beautiful and very spacious."

"Excellent hotel stay! I am not sure where some of these negative reviews come from, but I think the Cardoza Hotel deserves a 5 star rating! First of all, ALL of the staff is truly amazing and very hospitable. I did not encounter a one unpleasant employee anywhere on the property. Service was top notch and very personalized. All of the hotel including the guest rooms and public areas were extremely well maintained and clean. The food and beverage options in house were also very good. The location cannot be beat. The air conditioning worked extremely well (rare in older hotels) as well as the wifi. I truly had no complaints at all during my stay. The free beach towels and beach chair as well as welcome cocktail / beverage is a nice added bonus! Yes the rooms are a bit on the smaller size and are "white" - but this is to be expected of a historical property catering to the local culture/atmosphere of the area - hence the "white" colored rooms. Yes, there is only one small elevator - bug again - this is a historical property! If you like staying in smaller quiet boutique style hotels - then this is the place for you! I highly recommend the Cardoza Hotel and am very excited to return. They have won me over as a repeat guest! "
