Brilliant location
Great location right on the beachfront in Collingwood. The house was exactly as shown in the listing. Excellent, friendly communication and clear instructions from the owner who responded quickly to any queries. Would love to return in the future.

Everything you need to get away from it all
What a delightful spot, with uninterrupted views of the beach, and total privacy. Tia was a delightful host. The cottage is basic, but it's all you need.

Blissful setting
Great views out over the bay with the tide coming and going. The house is well positioned to take advantage of the view, but very private. Relaxed setting, and with lots of character, it was easy to feel at home.

Fantastic location.
The Bach is located in a beautiful part of Golden bay and watching the sunrise over the sea each morning was the highlight! Will definitely be visiting again.

Awesome spot
A lovely place to just chill out and relax! Easy and quick communication with Tia - all round, just a fantastic spot to wind down. Tucked into bush, with no neighbours (that you can see or hear anyway) and nothing but beach and sea in front of you. Glorious- we'll be back next year!

This is a lovely bach, right on the beach yet totally private. Has everything you would want, including a great selection of books. Owner was wonderful to deal with and promptly answered our questions. Can't wait for our next visit.

A simple NZ Bach with great views.
A great place to unwind for a few days, and explore the wider area. Very private and wonderful views over the bay both at low and high tide. Great beach for walking Bach has most things you would want, but no TV or Microwave. We had a great time, and would love to return one day

Great location , right on the beach and very private as Bach is surrounded by Bush. This is a Bach as described and suited us perfectly. Lots of outdoor activities around to explore of just sit on the deck or indoors and watch the view. Gorgeous Sunrise's ! Would definitely stay here again, thanks Tia

Cant imagine a more perfect spot
Just right for us to look out on the beach from the deck, go in for a swim, walk the beach, watch the birds, wander in to Collingwood, and explore beautiful Golden Bay. Very private.

Special spot!
We loved our time at Beach Cottage. The cottage is cute and rustic, and nestled in the bush with stunning views of the sea. It was lovely to be welcomed with a small vase of flowers on the table. We were very lucky with the weather & I was able to swim most mornings when the tide was high (just a minute's walk). Otherwise we walked along the beach, sat outside & read, or wandered to the Courthouse Cafe for a coffee. Tia was a friendly & welcoming host. Definitely a highlight of our holiday!

Beautiful private location by the beach
We had a lovely stay at this wee bach, the location was perfect , right by the estuary/beach and a short drive to Takaka and Farewell Spit. Stunning especially at high tide! Even if it is quite close to other houses, you can't see any of them as the house is surrounded by bush and out of sight of anyone else except the odd person walking past on the beach. The bach itself is older and "basic" (as per the description), but had everything we needed and was cleaned to a good standard. It's a bit of a shame you can't leave windows/doors open after dark as the house fills with insects, including mosquitoes, which makes it quite hot sleeping especially if the weather was hot. Tia was very welcoming and helpful, messages are promptly replied to in a friendly manner!

An ideal cottage for enjoying Collingwood
12 years after our previous visit to Collingwood, we had selected this beach cottage throught the good Book-a-Bach system. It corresponded to all our needs for 3 adults and, although the weather was somewhat wet, we really enjoyed its setup, location overlooking the long beach. We really apreciated numerous fantail birds inquiring curiously about the content of our breakfast plates. We do strongly recommend this beach cottage for those who wish to enjoy the natural landscape of Collingwood. Claudine and Daniel PS: We do regret that Bookabach messages cannot be easily printed from computers.

Wonderful spot!
We loved our stay here. Charming little bach with so much character and right on the beach. It was a perfect place to get away from it all and relax. Easy access to beautiful spots of Golden Bay and Takaka region. I would certainly return here if I could!

A piece of paradise
I felt extremely privileged to have experienced this gorgeous property. Being right on the beach, the views were simply stunning even from the comfy big bed and very private. Tia was a very good communicator and her house is the quintessential NZ bach. Simple but with everything you need. I recommend bringing binoculars as the bird life on the flats when the tide goes out is amazing. Would love to stay again.

A quiet getaway to chill out at
It's a great place to stay in an ideal location for the surrounding attractions. The fire warms the bach easily, the water is hot and the beds comfy and Tia left/and gave great instructions and directions. The only thing that was an inconvenience was that gas oven doesn't get very hot so cooking in it is not as expected and it's quite small too. I'd still be happy to stay here again.

Absolutely sensational house and location. Lovely views from inside and outside the house. We watched Gannets dive bombing for fish while enjoying our breakfast. We found beautiful shells on the beach to photograph. We watched the tide go out for miles and then come in again. We listened to some lovely varied music provided too. We'd love to come back.
