Getting to the hotel was a nightmare. Terrible roads, difficult to find. No basics such as coffee maker or ice machine. Beds were hard as a rock. I advise looking elsewhere.

Our favorite hotel in Coatzacoalcos has shut down- this a our new favorite. It’s clean and cool. And very clean. Did I mention clean? We will be back.

nice place to stay well located and clean
Very nice hotel, pet friendly with. parking. conveniently located in a very nice plaza with a variety of places to drink and eat. the room was very clean and the service was very polite

Nice place. I have used other Zar Hotels before and this was consistent with the fun art, working Wifi and nice rooms. This location is hidden at the back of a shopping area so look up and drive through when the maps says you arrived.

I felt very safe at this hotel due to the number of police officers living in the facility. Very conveniently located in a shopping plaza, right across a mall.

The best hotel option in Coatzacaulcos
Hotel Zar is a new hotel, that although difficult to find is outstanding in every way. It is in the only nice area of Coatzacoalcos, with multiple dining options, prime theaters and large air-conditioned mall within walking distance of less than 1/2 mile. Coatzacoalcos as a small city has to be one of the ugliest in Mexico (not recommended unless you have to be there on business). But if we ever have to return to visit family, we will stay at Hotel Zar again.

The hotel is new but very basic without proper door for bathroom and no wifi in rooms as advertised Also lift did not work but they gave a really nice cooked breakfast free and the staff were nice

Hard to find, but worth the effort.
PLEASE... www.hotels.com fix the link, when we called the PHONE NUMBER OF ZAR, it turns out we were talking to ZAR in Merida. THIS was oh. SO CONFUSING. and PLEASE advise the people at Google Maps, and at Garmin so that your hotel shows up in the GPS.

No podian resolver asignarnos en el mismo piso las 2 habitaciones que ya estaban pagadas, fue todo un show lograrlo, la habitación de no fumar olia a humo de cigarro, el minisplit escurria en el piso, el agua no estaba caliente, no habia cobijas extra, no había toallas extra, no habia bolsa para lavandería.

Es un hotel bonito, sin embargo, hay unos inconvenientes que espero puedan solucionar: el elevador en el tercer piso no sirve, y si llevas maletas podría ser un poco incómodo bajar las escaleras; otra sugerencia es que pongan una toalla extra, y también que los rollos de papel estén completos. De ahí, me parece un hotel lindo y en una zona segura de la ciudad, en donde fácilmente se puede ir a pasear, comer o beber sin problema alguno ya que el hotel está adentro de una plaza.
