Great place to stay
If you're hesitating about this beach house, don't. The views from this house were amazing from every room. The house had everything you could possibly want or need. The walk to the beach is down a short path - it's really not bad at all and definitely worth the short walk for those amazing views from the house and deck! We saw so many sea creatures at the beach at the house: lots of rays, many turtles, tons of fish, and even a couple of sharks! It was so awesome. There is a really cool blue hole right near the house to explore, and we walked to "Hells Gate" and saw so many turtles; it was unreal! This house is in a great location for restaurants, grocery, bakery, the marina, Dean's Blue Hole, and other beaches if you want to explore Long Island. We met so many nice people while we were there - everyone was so welcoming. Ron was great with communication and offering assistance. Nancy, the caretaker, had the house in beautiful shape for our arrival and was also very helpful while we were on the island. Ron's home is beautiful, and we can't wait to visit Long Island and this beach house again soon.

Great stay overall. We went on a down time of the island so we didn't see anyone on the beach at all! Location was great, beach was great, snorkeling wasn't much to see until you ventured out closer to the little islands and/or the blue hole near the house. Did see a shark while snorkeling though...that was a little scary but cool. For sure, use the kayaks to go to the little islands in front of the house at low tide...lots to see and really cool at low tide. House was exactly as advertised and very comfortable. Long Island was as well.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Ron’s house on Lochabar Bay. Nancy, the caretaker, was wonderful. She met us and guided us to the house the first time and was responsive to any questions or needs throughout our stay. The house is well maintained and was spotlessly clean when we arrived. We had everything we needed and more. It looks just like the pictures. It is a very short drive to the Erica’s bakery or the Lighthouse Point restaurant, “On the Edge.” We enjoyed the food at “All Under the Sun” as well. Ron has placed a binder on the coffee table with tide tables and much more information, details about places and times to kayak, snorkel, food options … and more. We visited Gordon’s Beach, but actually preferred the beach at the house. We had complete privacy and were very comfortable at the beach thanks to the sturdy placements for the nice new umbrellas, lounge chairs placed near the beach and plenty of beach towels. We also appreciated having the gas grill to cook out, the sun deck and other amenities. Nice house, nice location.

Beautiful property!
The listing was exactly as it showed. The view was breathtaking and we spent many hours on the deck and walking the beach. The neighborhood was very quiet. Water tasted great along with good water pressure. Kitchen is stalked well. The screened in porch was pleasant at night. We look forward to renting again! Quick note, do not buy liquor at KC’s near the Hillside Food, they are ripping off the tourists including us. Yukon Liquors is reasonable and has everything. Max’s and Seaside Village have great conch salad. Flying Fish has great fish and conch bites. Stella Maris at the north end has incredible food both at the pool bar and restaurant. Be careful at night on Long Island wild pigs like to roam.

A tropical paradise
The house was just perfect, with everything you need. Cozy house, and beautiful Lochabar beach just 100 yards down a tropical sand path from the house. Ron will guide you though car rentals or help make arrangements to have some pick you up or take you to the airport. If a quiet place, serenity and just the sound of the surf, birds, and the gentle breezes through the coconut trees is your thing, I’d recommend his house. We’re hoping to do again next year, ..just stay longer.

Paradise Found!
My husband and I have been traveling to the Out Islands of the Bahamas for several years. We have traveled to Exuma several times, The Abacos and Eleuthera. This was our first time on Long Island and it won't be our last. The islands are all unique in their own ways, but there is something special... almost magical, about Long Island. It's full of beautiful beaches and natural wonders (Shrimp Hole, Lowes and Bonniecort Beaches, Dean's Blue Hole), but the people were all so very friendly and kind. We are from WV (US) and we are used to waves from strangers and friendly "hello"s, but not so familiar with that on the Out Islands. It made us feel so welcomed as we traveled from tip to tip over our 10 day stay. From Columbus Point to Gordon's Beach, it was all breathtaking and memorable. Ron's house is perfect! It is by far the most well equipped home we have ever rented. It was clean, well appointed, comfortable and those VIEWS from every room are absolutely spectacular. I will treasure those beautiful views in my minds eye forever. We really enjoyed the kayaks and kayaked across the bay and throughout the blue hole at low tide. We saw turtles, rays and even a small shark (from far away). We played Phase 10 at night while enjoying the view of a million bright stars and enjoyed walks along the beach at sunset. We also enjoyed the small library that is available! I found the perfect book and enjoyed reading it during our stay. Ron's property is perfectly located and I was super impressed with the variety in the grocery store (best one on any island) and Erica's Bakery was a hit with my husband! Lighthouse Point was a great place to grab a nice dinner and Gordon's Beach Bar was wonderful as well. We enjoyed getting to know the owner, Ernest! He was very kind and jovial and was happy to share all sorts of stories. We loved visiting the Caribbean beaches. Go to Galloway Beach (road between the two salt ponds) and turn left to experience the gorgeous canal and rope swing! That place is magical at sunset! Ron was always attentive in answering all of our questions and it is obvious that he goes out of his way to ensure that every guest has a comfortable, wonderful and memorable stay. Book Ron's place! Great Family Vacation
My family had a wonderful time in Long Island! The house was clean, had everything we needed, and great location on the island. Ron was great about quickly answering all of my questions before our trip. Nancy was helpful showing us everything about the house and telling us about things to do on the island. The beach in front of the house is beautiful! We saw several stingrays while there. We had fun walking down the beach to the blue hole and at low tide we walked over to Hell’s Gate. There were so many shades of blue! We can’t wait to go back. We would definitely stay in this house again. They thought of everything!

If you're looking for a quiet respite from life then you've found the place! Long Island is one of the Bahamas hidden gems - empty beaches, unspoiled nature, and friendly people. The house is on a fabulous stretch of beach that's protected by cays. Everything you need for a kayak adventure is available - getting to the reef for snorkeling is easy as is going to the estuary. The house is located on the south end of the island which has all the cool stuff close by: Dean's Blue Hole, Galloway Beach, Shrimp Hole are all a short drive away. Ron has a car available that's air conditioned (you'll appreciate this!) and reliable. The house is perfect for a family vacation and has everything you need - lots of linens, fluffy towels, a fully stocked kitchen, and supplies for adventuring. Communication with Ron is great and he's easily available for any questions you might have. You'll also have a contact person on the island if you need something while you're there (Esi is super helpful!). We had a wonderful time and recommend this rental without hesitation!

Unbelievable Family Get-a-Way!
Everything in this home was perfect! Our family of four (2 teens) had the best vacation ever. The kayaks, the deck, the landscaping, the spacious living area, the beach…..it was a dream! Exceptional stay
This is a fantastic location and property for a vacation. Ron is incredibly organized and answers all questions. Check in and drive from the airport was perfect with both Issi and Nancy. As for the property it is beautiful, is perfectly located and has everything you could need. We used the kayaks which was great and enjoyed the whole bay tremendously. Will be recommending this property specifically to friends and will rent again when we come back to Long Island. We really did not want to leave!! Great host and great rental.

Long Island Getaway
Total props to Ron for providing my family the opportunity to stay in his beautiful home. Everything in the property description was as described if not somewhat understated. It was the nicest home we have visited in the Out Islands. The views from the porches were breathtaking. Upon arrival, Ron’s home was spotless. Nancy, his house manager, gave us a quick tour of the property and even picked us up a few essentials because of our late arrival. Ms. Nancy is a gem and we appreciated all her help. Lochabar Beach is a hidden jewel in the Bahamas and Ron has provided his guests beach chairs, umbrellas, and several water toys to enjoy the area directly in front of his home. A short stroll down from the house is Lochabar Beach’s personal Blue Hole that you can visit. During the entire week we only witnessed one other couple strolling the sands near the house. So many nice folk on Long Island! We have been to several of the Out Islands and the people of Long Island are the best – so warm and friendly. Really enjoyed the folks at Gordon’s Beach Bar, Lloyd’s Bar & Beach Grill, Lighthouse Marina restaurant, and especially Seaside Villa Conch Bar near the airport. Unfortunately, we were only able to stay a week but I see another trip to Long Island and Ron’s Lochabar Beach Villa in the very near future. Again, Ron’s home was terrific with a fantastic view of the beautiful of the Bahamian waters. We are looking forward to our next visit. Geoff, Becky, Skyler, and Kaleigh

Views galore for an unforgettable vacation!
Terrific home that is well cared for & has everything you need for a thoroughly relaxing vacation. When we arrived, Nancy gave us a quick bit thorough tour & we immediately noticed how clean & well stocked things were. We had no issues with the house, drinking water was excellent as was water pressure & a/c performance. Beach is a mere 2-3 minute walk down a tree lined private walk and wow, everything you expect in a beach - you can easily swim & stay here nearly all week if you wished. Stores & food were no more than 15-20 minutes max. away (by mandatory car). Nearby marina has very good food and is close, recommend Erica’s bakery in town as well. Recommend Under The Sun near Deadman’s Cay for a great boat trip & one of the few places to get coffee drinks. Please consider this house & island if you want to really get away & thoroughly relax - it checks all the boxes!

The Kuzo home is located on a beautiful bay, Lochabar Bay. The house is well laid out with windows and views from every room. There are lots of amenities, air conditioning, ceiling fans, spices, paper goods, beach chairs, umbrellas. We rented the car available with the home and had a wonderful time exploring the north and south ends of the island. The house was well managed by the caretaker, Nancy.

Spectacular Setting
We had a wonderful stay at the Lochabar Beach House! There are spectacular water views from the deck, and from every room in the house. A short walk leads to a beautiful, quiet beach which is great for walking, swimming and kayaking. You'll find everything you need in this well-equipped and very comfortable house. The Lochabar Beach House is a great place to relax and enjoy beach activities, plus the location is ideal to explore the Southern end of the island. Some of the beach roads are rough, so we were happy we rented an SUV to get to uncrowded beaches such as Gordon's, Dean's Blue Hole, Galloway Beach and Lowes Beach. We had a variety of local meals and take-out from the new Gordon's Beach Bar, Max's Conch Bar, Flying Fish Marina, Erica's Bakery, Forest Take Away, and On the Go.

Wonderful stay, wonderful place
We loved our stay at this house on Lochabar Bay. The house is spotless and spacious. Nancy, the caretaker, does a fantastic job and Ron, the owner, is very responsive. Long Island is a great place to visit. We were there for a week and, from our base at this house, explored the north end and the south end. Some of our favorite things were: cliff jumping at Dean's blue hole, the view from the Columbus monument, floating off of Gordon's beach, and everything from the bakery in Clarence Town. Thank you for the memories.

House is in best location on beautiful beach. Immaculate well maintained property that our whole family (2 adults and 2 teens) enjoyed. The view is to die for! Kitchen has everything you could need, lots of supplies (spices, dish and clothes detergent, hand soap, etc) there to get you started. We loved every minute spent here! Spectacular Long Island
My wife and I, along with another couple stayed at Ron's home along Lochabar Beach Feb 13-27. I will say the location is tough to beat. A short stroll down the sandy path to a wonderful stretch of swimmable warm water and a great beach for walking and exploring. Clarence Town with a couple good restaurant's and a bakery, was just a couple minutes away from the house. The house and the grounds are in terrific condition and the owners care for his property is evident all around. The house has a great setup with baths in each bedroom and a great deck and screened in porch for hanging out. It's condition shines! Views are incredible from every room. Kayaking in the bay was a real highlight. Ron was great to work with and his staff at the property were incredibly helpful and nice. The island itself boasts some beautiful rural regions, beaches, churches and the friendliest people you can hope to meet. Welcoming at every stop we made, which was a lot. The Cape, Stella Maris, Maxes, and don't miss a visit with "PitBull" near Gordons Beach. What a kick! Make sure you explore, take a eco boat tour with Captain Frances at Its All Under The Sun and experience all you can from this beautiful island. It's a laid back atmosphere that was more than welcome from the turmoils of today's world. Our thanks to Ron for providing his perfect house in a perfect location, and making this vacation stand out as fantastic. The Montana Crew

Sun, sand, solitude - best views on the island!
My husband and I enjoyed 5 glorious days at this beautiful oceanfront home. It was extremely well equipped, clean, and spacious. The furniture and beds were so comfortable; we liked sitting out on the deck the most. The view from the floor to ceiling windows of the great room was breathtaking every time we entered the home, or walked out of the bedroom each morning. No need to go anywhere else, the best views are right here. The house had air conditioning and multiple ceiling fans, but we just opened the many windows to enjoy the cross breezes. We used the kayaks every day to explore the bay and nearby cays, the water is crystal clear and warm. We rented one of Ron's cars, which is so convenient, to go out to dinner each night. We also appreciated the convenience of having Ernest pick us up and drop us off to the airport. He is very funny and friendly, and gave us great advice about places to see and go on the island. Even though there are other houses on the same beach, we did not see another soul on the beach in front of this house the entire time; felt like we had the island to ourselves.

The perfect vacation rental
My family of 5 stayed 6 days in this very beautiful rental and we couldn't have been happier. We live and work in a tourist area and wanted to vactation where is was a lot less "touristy". We have sailed the Exuma islands in the past and decided to stay on an island this time. We rented a car from Ron and drove to both ends of the island and we all decided Locabar Bay was by far the best. The pick up service from and back to the airport was very helpful as it would have been difficult to find the rental on our own. The view was incredible! The kitchen had everything we needed. The constant breeze made it so that we just kept the ceiling fans on most of the time. The beach was a treasure trove of unique and beautiful shells. We brought our own snorkling gear but there is gear available in the rental if needed. We could have spent the entire vacation in the bay in front of the house and still had one of the best vacations ever. We also rented a boat from It's All Under The Sun for a very reasonable fee and spent one day boating out to see the swimming pigs. Even though we had a car we didn't get to visit all of the great beaches available because we had such a great time just around the area of the house. We ate at the marina a couple of times and found the food absolutely wonderful and not out of line price wise. Everyone we met on the island was very friendly and helpful. Our whole experience has made us start looking at vacations homes here for ourselves. If that doesn't happen we will be back to stay in this same rental. If I could find a way to live on this island I would move there tomorrow.

Heaven on Earth!!!
From the moment we arrived at the Lochabar Beach House, I tried to start articulating the beauty and serenity that is this place. I knew a proper “review” would be next to impossible as words just can’t describe the home and area!!! We were picked up by Ernst, just as Ron told us, and he was beyond informative, polite, and incredibly welcoming. He stopped at the local “grocery” to pick up some necessities, and pointed out lots of hot spots and secluded beaches. I must tell you, you don’t even have to leave the home at all to get an amazing vacation experience!! The house was so so so well apppinted, clean, and welcoming! I was just in awe every single day at the views of Lochabar Bay that we woke up to. We LOVED the beach and kayaking to the different areas so well described by Ron. We got dozens of awesome sand dollars and seashells to bring home. Do NOT miss the opportunity to kayak past the Lochabar hole and over to the flats and to “Hells Gate”. Those flats are INDESCRIBABLY beautiful!!! My husband and children snorkeled for hours and hours every single day. The clear, warm, turquoise waters go as far as the eye can see. It is MAGNIFICENT!! Do yourself a favor and go to the private beach that Ernst shows you how to get to, it was breathtaking. We also spent 2 days at Deans Blue Hole and essentially had it to ourselves the first day. My kids and husband LOVED jumping off the cliff. (Be CAREFUL climbing up there!) we also enjoyed 2 meals and evenings at Rowdy Boys down by the Marina. We booked a full day boat tour with Frances and his son, Charlie from the “Everything Under The Sun” store and had the BEST day fishing, snorkeling, touring, swimming with and feeding the pigs, and more. They were beyond hospitable and just amazing, accommodating guides. Plus they cleaned all of the fish we caught and we took it home and cooked it up for dinner!! I really could go on for days about this trip, it was such a very special time for our family. Our kids (age 7 and 9) were so entertained by the games and puzzles Ron has stocked at the house. We bonded in such a needed, unplugged way! This will definitely become a regular vacation spot for us. I could spend months here. We thank Ron, Ernst, Nancy and everyone on the island for everything!! We can’t WAIT to come back.

Quiet, secluded home away from home.
Great home, very spacious, super clean and super well stocked with everything you need for a nice get away. The home offers a screened porch that allows you to enjoy ocean breezes, birds singing and nature. The location also gives you a great panoramic view of the beach and close access to Lochbar Blue Hole. Great beach right in front of the house with beach chairs, umbrellas, kayaks, life vests. Really enjoyed dealing with Ron, owner as well as his caretakers Nancy and Ernest. Very laidback island where you can really come and relax. Very safe and lots of things to explore, blue holes, caves, beaches. Really enjoyed our stay in this home and this island. Hope to make it back soon!!

We have rented quite a few homes in the Bahamas and this one stands out. The property is very well stocked. Everything worked. We didn't spend much time at the house because we were only there to fish, but it was a perfect base and had everything we needed for cooking in the evenings. The owner was easy to work with and helpful. The manager was very helpful with picking us up and dropping us back off at the airport.

We really enjoyed our stay at Lochabar Beach House. The property is well maintained and it's location can't be beat. The layout of the house was nice with gorgeous views from every window. The kitchen is well appointed and the beds are comfortable. There are several good restaurants a pleasant drive away. The beach is beautiful and the kayaks were a lot of fun. The property's caretaker, Nancy, was very nice and always responded to any questions or issues. WI-FI is included in the house, however the router may require an upgrade as its signal was very weak and could only be used when standing very close to it. Beautiful place
My family (5 adults, 1 toddler) enjoyed 9 days on Long Island. The place was great - quiet, well-kept, and with stunning views. If you are planning to travel with young children, you'll need to make arrangements for a crib, and baby gates if you want them. Ron was very responsive to our requests. We are hoping to come back again next year!

Lochabar 2017 Vacation
If you want a beautiful place to stay and you love the simple life, Long Island is the place for you. The beach house was everything the owner described and more. Ernst (driver) and Nancy the (caretaker) were very friendly and provided valuable information. They were only a phone call away, if needed. Our days were spent mostly on the beautiful beach soaking in the abundant sunshine (had a total of 5 people walk by us on the beach over the 7 days we were there). The temps were in the mid 80's but the ocean breeze kept things very pleasant. The water was as green and blue as the pictures, just beautiful. We cooked at the beach house mostly (grocery store was simple but sufficient, fish house had fresh fish), but we did get out (rented car) and sample the local cuisine, (Clarence Town Marina) which was great. We explored Dean's blue hole where the pictures don't do it justice. We are going to have to get our scuba diving certification for the next visit. Secluded, quiet and safe are the words that come to mind when summing up our trip to Long Island and the Lochabar Beach House. Can't wait to get back!!

What a beautiful spot!
We had a wonderful 10-day stay at this property. It was the perfect location for me, my husband and our two boys (ages 10 and 13). Ron was very helpful leading up to our trip, always ready with answers to my many questions. Once we landed, his caretakers Nancy and Ernest were great on-the-ground resources as well. The property is located on a hill overlooking a beautiful bay (protected by three small cays, which helps to keep the wind down). Most times we were completely alone on the beach, or we might see just a small handful of other people. When the water is calm it's a great spot for swimming and kayaking. Twice the wind was calm enough that we took the kayaks across the bay to the uninhabited cay. We found amazing shells there, and of course another beautiful beach. My son bought a fishing pole on the island and tried fishing the blue hole almost every day. He never managed to land anything (did have a few bites), but it was great fun for him. When the wind was calm the boys also snorkeled this blue hole and did see a few fish, rays and turtles. We even saw wild pigs a few times on the trail leading down to the ocean! The island is very driveable, and although there are a few restaurants close by we found ourselves driving closer to the mid- and upper-island for a mid-afternoon meal and some activities most days. (Tiny's Hurricane Hole, the restaurant at Cape Santa Maria Resort, Chez Pierre and the very nearby Flying Fish Marina were all good choices for nice meals.) Otherwise, we cooked at the house, which was well-equipped with spices, pots and pans, and just about anything you might need. There's more to do mid- and upper-island, but we would definitely still choose this home on a return trip. There are a lot of places on the island that do not accommodate a beach, swimming or kayaking experience (either because they are too rocky or too windy). This spot on Lochabar Bay allows for all of those so if you're wanting a low-key vacation with lots of relaxation and natural beauty, this is the perfect spot! It was hard to leave after 10 days because it was truly already feeling like "HomeAway."

Wonderful villa on Long Island
We stayed at Ron’s Harbour Villa for 10 days and felt very comfortable. The villa is very well maintained and clean, the location is exceptionally beautiful. You have a lot of privacy, there are few neighboring houses nearby, so it is not completely lonely. The Lighthouse Point Restaurant is only 5 minutes away by car, which we can also highly recommend. A big compliment to the friendly housekeeper Nancy, who always provided us with information (for example about planned power cuts). The house is very well thought out and designed. To the front you have a fantastic sea view. The rear area of the house is open and behind fly screens, so it is also ideal for lingering and eating without being bitten by mosquitoes. We had a light breeze almost all the time, so we didn't have any major problems with mosquitoes. We can recommend Ron's house 100%, we would be very happy to return to this beautiful place with wonderful surroundings again.

Magnifique maison familiale avec une vue à couper le souffle sur une des plus belles plages de Long
Lorsque que l’on entre dans la maison c’est la vue incroyable qui saute aux yeux. La maison est située au dessus de la plage. Elle est très bien équipée. La literie est excellente et trois salles de bain complètes, c’est appréciable. Les chaises longues et les canoës privatifs sont un vrai plus. Nous avons fait le tour de l’île et c’est l’endroit le plus agréable. Ernest et Nancy qui sont sur place sont très serviables et accueillant. C’est une île d’une grande beauté et si nous revenons nous relouerons chez Ron.
