"Loved the old building. The restaurant staff(( 2 young men) were very good. The food was great too. Liked the room. Clean and comfortable bed, good shower, not enough clothes storage. Not happy with my check in experience and the way it was dealt with. 40minutes wasted hanging about waiting. Fire alarm in the night. A fault in the system.No-one on premises to sort it out. Fire brigade came. We were outside an hour."

"We were attending a wedding at the hotel and on the day the electricity went off. It was completely out of the hands of the hotel but the staff worked tirelessly to ensure the wedding reception could go ahead. There was no power from 6am until late into the evening but somehow they kept everything on track and the event was a huge success. How they managed to serve such high quality food under the circumstances I don’t know. I’m sure they were all exhausted by the end of the day, but thank you for all your efforts!!"

"We stayed twice in quick succession, the first room was very small, but the second room was quite nice. It is an 800 year old building so not everything is perfect, but the food and service is great. The bathrooms were clean in both rooms. Parking is half a block away, so you need to plan out the unloading/loading a bit, that turned out to not be a big deal, but not expecting that caused us to spend quite a bit of extra time initially."

Room was clean, although the bathroom did have a lingering solvent smell, like it had recently been repainted. The hotel itself runs its own shuttle service to Stonehenge which was super convenient. The food was fantastic and the service was impeccable from start to finish. Our room was absolutely gorgeous — beautifully decorated, comfortable and full of character. "Location was on a busy main road so exiting by car was difficult at times. Car parking although off road was tight. A bit too far to walk into Salisbury for an evening meal and nothing close by was good enough. Breakfast was hot and excellent, many choices. Staff very friendly. A very distinguished property with quiet rooms, no squeaky floorboards as we have seen and heard elsewhere. A lovely place and would stay again."
