Absolutely loved this hotel. I stayed here with my mom for 2 nights a few weeks ago, and I have nothing but positive things to say. The hotel was quaint, clean, inviting, and the owners are lovely people. They treat their guests like old friends, and it's easy to feel at home from the start. The breakfast each morning was the best I had anywhere during my two week trip. The croissants were even still warm when I put them on my plate. The room was clean, spacious, and very quiet. The hardest part was getting up in the morning, as the bed was incredibly comfortable. The location was also perfect. It's in a quieter town, but a very close drive to the more touristy towns of the Cotswolds, as well as the nearby castles.
I absolutely adored this hotel and the family running it. To be honest, this is one of the best accommodation experiences I've ever had and I'm a frequent traveler. I'd suggest staying here to anyone looking for a great, quiet accommodation and an all around wonderful experience. I'll be back for sure!

Beautiful old building. Lots of character. Interesting history
We stayed for 4 nights and loved every minute of our stay. The service was great, the room was comfortable and clean and the breakfasts were excellent, using many locally sourced ingredients. The hotel is well located in a nice quiet village, but close to many popular locations to visit and is just 5 minutes drive from Burford.
The Cotswolds themselves are a great place to visit and we would definitely recommend staying at The Shaven Crown.
Beautiful setting, lovely food, very friendly, just a few room modernisations needed these days.

We were so pleased by this Inn. One can feel the history as you walk in. The hotel's owner was friendly, chatty and very interesting. We had dinner which was good. We enjoyed this little gem.
This place has oodles of character. The owners are very welcoming and the breakfast was excellent. Unfortunately we stayed on a Sunday evening and so weren’t able to sample their dinner menu since it is the one night of the week they don’t serve dinner. The Pump Room was large and comfortable and not too noisy even though it faced onto the road (A361). The bathroom needed a little bit of attention but nothing that detracted from our stay and feedback about this was received positively. We would definitely stay here again.

Nice characterful hotel. Room was a little tired needed updating. Also room position was on the front which is directly on main village through road so at peak times a little noisey.
Breakfast was excellent as was the dining room. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Lovely old hotel in beautiful surroundings. Restaurant food very high quality. Rooms are small but nicely decorated and very comfortable, although a wardrobe or more hangers would be good in Elevendon room. Only 2 small gripes - being told we would have to be charged for the use of an ice bucket in our room (- most unusual, as the room prices aren't cheap and 4 of us were eating in the restaurant which also isn't cheap) and not doing a vegetarian full English (isn't difficult to give an extra egg or provide a veg sausage or hasn't brown in place of meat. That said there were other breakfast choices available and overall we had a lovely stay here.
Really special old inn with a wonderful double-height hall. Refurbished in a modern, comfortable style. Welcoming hosts and good food. The nearby village of Burford is well worth a visit. Our room was at the back of the inn, overlooking the courtyard, so there was no traffic noise at all.
