"Great place to stay for hikers who want to go to Grayson Highlands (15 min. away in Va.) or do other outdoor activities in Ashe Co. Very clean, comfortable beds, and lots of bunnies and deer in the yard. We attended the Fly Around Fest in Lansing and it was wonderful."

"We stayed July 30th thru Aug. 2,2026Carol and Robert were fantastic hosts.Upon entering the cabin it smelled fresh and clean, and was even more lovely in person than online. The views were truly breathtaking and so much so that my fiance decided to propose to me right there in the front yard! The cabin was equipped with everything we needed and more. We enjoyed the fireplace the fire pit the horseshoe pit, charcoal grill and most of all the porch swing and chairs.There were even travel sized bathroom products in case we forgot something. They really thought of everything. We felt so welcomed and comfortable our entire stay and we will be back at least annually and maybe more. We took in alot of sights on this trip:Lots of cattle seen from the deck as well as the 3 donkeys you can feed at the fence.Whitetop Mountain on a motorcycle, Grayson Highland hike to see wild ponies,Creeper Trail , we rode bikes from Alvarado Station to Abingdon for theHighland Festival , we then discovered a Hot Air Balloon Festival while on the way through. Climbed Backbone Rock in the rain andTook a drive to Saltville. We already have a list of more to do next time. Thank you again Carol and Robert for the memories we will cherish for our lives.
