"Hotel Barocco is a small hotel located across from the Barberini metro station, making it very convenient to arrive from the airport by train and then metro.
The hotel staff are friendly, helpful and welcoming. Every staff member we met was great.
The hotel is well maintained and has a small reception and sitting area. Air conditioning throughout and it works very well (which was a big plus considering the 35C outside every day we visited).
We had a deluxe room, facing Piazza Barberini but on a lower floor. One thing we noticed is that while the double glazing was effective in blocking out most of the street and traffic noise from the Piazza, if you stay in a deluxe room you may want to request a room away from the lower floors facing the Piazza, as the sound of late night drinkers could still be heard in the room.
On our second night we shut the outside shutters which helped reduce the noise level from the street and piazza. Any noise we experienced had nothing to do with the hotel. Staying in the centre of Rome and having rooms facing a main street means you have to expect things to be active 24 hours.
Our room was very clean and well looked after, a bit smaller than expected but comfortable. Our room also had a walk-in closet which was great for storing luggage.
Hotel Barocco is a good 4 star hotel with a good location. The outstanding friendliness of the staff makes it even better."
"The rooms are very nice. However basic amenities in the room such as a soap dish, shower cap, cotton wool etc were not available.
The gym was not open and nor was there a restaurant on site. Breakfast was very basic. I think this was all because the hotel has only just reopened from a major refurbishment."
