"We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Chichén Itzá. The property is a beautifully preserved converted hacienda, full of character and charm, which made the whole experience feel really special and unique. The rooms were clean, spacious, and very comfortable which was perfect for our group. The bathrooms were a standout too, with full bathtubs which were great after long days exploring. The restaurant was fantastic, serving mostly traditional Mexican food that was fresh, authentic, and consistently delicious. What really made this place exceptional, though, was the staff. They were incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely service-oriented, nothing ever felt like too much trouble. The pool area was great for both adults and kids, and the grounds themselves are absolutely stunning, immaculately maintained and a joy to walk around. We stayed as a group of 9, including children, and it suited us perfectly. It’s one of those places that feels relaxing, welcoming, and memorable all at once. Would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Chichén Itzá."

"The setting is genuinely remarkable — colonial architecture wrapped in dense jungle gardens, with a beautiful pool and staff attentive enough to pull you aside and show you a nesting owl. That kind of place-specific magic is hard to manufacture. But the experience has real rough edges. The rooms feel dated relative to the price point, and the walls are thin enough that you'll know your neighbors intimately. More frustrating: several sources still describe direct access to the Chichen Itza archaeological zone, which no longer exists — worth knowing before you book. Small operational failures compounded this: taxis requested but not followed through on, and notices about outside food and drink posted with a tone that doesn't match a property at this price tier. The restaurant leans expensive, particularly for wine, which matters more here than it would in town given how far you are from alternatives. The birdwatching program looks excellent, but was booked for the time that worked for us. Book early or confirm availability on arrival. Thin walls, but rooms are spotlessly clean. If the grounds and atmosphere are your priority, you'll find them here. Come with adjusted expectations on the rest."

"Bathroom got clogged easily but this is apparently a problem in all the hotels I stayed at in Mexico. The staff were quick to fix it. Becareful walkkng/running on the floor tiles after you exit the pool because I slipped just by walking. "This resort stay was amazing and genuinely beyond my expectations. The jungle atmosphere is the whole experience—peaceful, romantic, and nearly effortless from check-in to checkout. If you’re expecting a brand-new, ultra-modern “2025-built” 5-star resort, you’re missing the point of staying within about 1,000 feet of Chichén Itzá and being immersed in nature. The entire site was very clean, and the beds were super comfortable. The staff were nothing but welcoming—friendly and they sparked conversations in a natural way without ever being obtrusive. Service felt easy and relaxed, which is exactly what we wanted. The food was right in line with what we hoped for—solid 4–5 star quality. We stayed in a lodge with a single bed, and the air conditioning was more than adequate (honestly, it was set too cold when we arrived—nice problem to have). No real need for an alarm clock if you sleep with the windows open—the natural sounds are the perfect wake-up call. We visited at the end of February and avoided crowds completely—only about 4–5 cars in the parking lot. It’s far enough from the hustle and bustle of Cancun to truly unwind. I would return without a doubt, and I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, romantic stay in a unique jungle setting near Chichén Itzá."

"This is a beautiful 16th century hacienda. It is quite well maintained, but it is obvious that more money should be invested to bring it back to its former glory, especially the bathroom ceilings. However, for anyone who wants a peaceful and quiet vacation, outside the city but not too far away, this hacienda is an excellent choice. But, guests must be aware that this facility is in the forest, there are animals, humidity is constantly present - this is a tropical area after all. The staff is very friendly, they speak mostly only Spanish, but communication is possible with apps. On the other hand, whatever we asked was done immediately. This is a place to rest your soul from the city crowds and everyday stress! It is wonderful to sit on the porch in the morning, with the discreet voices of animals and enjoy excellent coffee brought to you by smiling staff!"
