Room was very clean. The setting was absolutely beautiful. The food was excellent. The pools were very nice. The staff are super dedicated. Great place.
This resort stay was amazing and genuinely beyond my expectations. The jungle atmosphere is the whole experience—peaceful, romantic, and nearly effortless from check-in to checkout. If you’re expecting a brand-new, ultra-modern “2025-built” 5-star resort, you’re missing the point of staying within about 1,000 feet of Chichén Itzá and being immersed in nature.
The entire site was very clean, and the beds were super comfortable. The staff were nothing but welcoming—friendly and they sparked conversations in a natural way without ever being obtrusive. Service felt easy and relaxed, which is exactly what we wanted.
The food was right in line with what we hoped for—solid 4–5 star quality. We stayed in a lodge with a single bed, and the air conditioning was more than adequate (honestly, it was set too cold when we arrived—nice problem to have).
No real need for an alarm clock if you sleep with the windows open—the natural sounds are the perfect wake-up call. We visited at the end of February and avoided crowds completely—only about 4–5 cars in the parking lot. It’s far enough from the hustle and bustle of Cancun to truly unwind. I would return without a doubt, and I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, romantic stay in a unique jungle setting near Chichén Itzá.
Staying at The Lodge at Chichen Itza was such a unique and memorable experience. It feels surreal to be so close to the ruins, surrounded by history and completely immersed in nature — you really feel like you’re in the middle of the jungle.
The grounds are absolutely beautiful, with a classic hacienda style and tons of lush plants everywhere you look. Even though the property is going through some updates, it didn’t take away from our stay at all — it actually feels like the place is growing and coming back to life. The pool area is gorgeous and perfect for cooling off after exploring.
The staff was incredible — so friendly and welcoming, they really make you feel like family. They were always happy to chat, help with anything we needed, and even gave great tips on places to visit nearby.
The food was a highlight too — fresh, balanced, and tasty any time of day. The drinks were great (and well-priced!), and the desserts, especially the marquesitas, were so good.
Our room had a rustic charm, everything worked well, and it was spotlessly clean.
We only wish we could have stayed longer. Between the warm hospitality, beautiful setting, and the once-in-a-lifetime experience of staying right next to Chichen Itza, this place is truly special. Highly recommend for anyone wanting to combine history, culture, and a jungle escape.
The hacienda property is spectacular. The lush tropical surroundings and the pool is extremely beautiful and so very relaxing. The restaurant is fantastic with plenty of local Mayan dishes both for meat eaters and vegetarians and vegans. The rooms are very comfortable with lots of traditional Spanish colonial accents. Lastly, the hotel staff is superb..very polite welcoming and helpful! Best hotel I have stayed at. Super relaxing rejuvenating stay.
Uniquely, beautiful property both the grounds and buildings! I highly recommend staying there.

One day before our arrival we received following message:
Dear Guest,
We would like to inform you that, due to irregular resolutions issued by the authorities of the State of Yucatan, The Lodge at Chichén Itzá has been forced to temporarily suspend its operations.
Our legal team is taking all necessary actions to remedy this situation and reopen our doors in the shortest time possible. In the meantime, we have secured your stay by automatically transferring your reservation to the Chichén Itzá Hotel.
If you prefer to cancel your reservation due to .....
We paid a lot of money to stay so close to one of the "7 world wonders".
Luckily, Hotels.com (expedia) is taking care of this issue and clarifying current situation including a refund for us.
It would have been the highlight of our 17 days Mexico holidays. We booked all nights at four different lications via Hotels.com, a hotel site I really can recommend.

This is the only place to stay for a visit to Chichen Itza. They have a five minute shuttle to the archaeological site and will even sell you a ticket before you go so you don’t have to wait in line. Plus it’s a really nice Hacienda style hotel
El hotel nos sorprendió muchísimo. Espacioso, tranquilo. Todo su personal super cordial y atentos a ayudarnos en todo lo que necesitamos durante los días que estuvimos con ellos. Muy recomendado para descansar, relajar y conocer las extraordinarias bellezas de la zona de Chichen Itza

It's a beautiful place and we enjoyed our stay. For the price, it would be nice to have better amenities in the rooms, and overall the service was very friendly but oddly sparse. That said, we'd recommend it.
