Not a b&b, not good service

The hotel was fine, just shouldn't call themselves B&B if there is no breakfast. It tricked me to booking it, should I know no breakfast I would have booked that. The driver charged me more than what the hotel said. The room was big, but no one helped with luggage that we had to walk 3 floors up :(

Pettymys sekä palvelun että hotellin tason suhteen. Luvattu näkymä kaupunkiin oli parvekkeelta toiseen majoitushuoneeseen suoraan. Vettä joutui erikseen pyytämään jääkaappiin, joka ei ollut edes huoneessa. Nettiyhteys ei toiminut ollenkaan yhden vuurokauden aikana.

A little disapointed

I had stayed at The Nest before but on this stay found that it had been divided in half and operated as two seperate homestays. Gone was the guest lounge and the dining room the two areas where the guests met. I doubt if I will return

Great spot in Nimman area

The nest was great. It's situated on a quiet street in the Nimman area of Chiang Mai. It's about a 15 minute walk from main Nimmanhaemin road, and 5-10 minute walk to a street of other cafes and stores nearby. The staff was super friendly and the room was a great value. I was even upgraded to a suite because they were booked up.

NOT AT ALL AS EXPECTED.... DISAPPOINTING PLACE

We stayed 3d/2 nights there and were quite disappointed. First the "airport pick up" was a guy telling us to take a taxi - who doesn't know where the guesthouse was! (plus we paid more!!). Then the staff was inexistent: either they were in the back sleeping or eating or just standing at front deak watching tv or computers or phones... maybe this is why we couldn't get a proper Internet connexion in the room... impossible to receive simple emails!! Well they barely say hello/goobye. These 2 guys were unable to indicate any name or precision to tell to the taxi or good place to eat.. useless!! The rooms are ok and clean but the whole building is so hot you can't sleep correctly - if you put some a/c - it is so noisy! There is no breakfast available at all so you have to walk at least 10mn to get something to eat. Well this might be the worst guesthouse I've been! No service, place just ok or less, quite expensive though for such poor quality...

Small, central, friendly hotel / B&B in Chiang Mai

Best value small hotel in Chiang Mai. Only 10 rooms, differing layouts, all with A/C, ensuite and safebox. Rooms on 2 & 3 floor, need to take stairs. Modern building in a residential area. Large shopping mall adjacent, 500 metres walk. Western style supermarket within mall, plus a"Central" department store. Only 15 minutes from airport. If want breakfast, have to order the previous night. Plenty of coffee shops / restaurants 10 minutes walk away. No need to rent a car. Taxi to anywhere in town less than US$5, even less in a tuk tuk (motor tricycle taxi for 2 passengers). It's certainly not the Hilton, but it delivers what it promises. If you want all the bells and whistles, pay four times more, or stay home.

Satisfied enough to book a second time.

After staying one night, we asked ourselves what we were missing that would be in a hotel triple the price. Comfortable room; polished teak floors throughout; breakfast available; large shopping plaza nearby with everything from groceries to cellphones to massages; and all down a QUIET lane accessible to main arterials and the Nimmenhaeman/CMU area. So, we immediately booked for the second half of our stay in Chiang Mai -- arrangements for which had been open-ended. We were not able to get the larger room with the separate sitting area and do recommend it if available. But the smaller room is quite comfortable. Our son, a CM resident asked us "How did you find this place?" when he checked it out for us before we came. He was impressed.
