From check in to check out, every detail is executed well. An amazing small hotel that includes kayaks and paddle boards. The pier was under construction, which was unfortunate timing for us. Our room, however, enabled us to watch the sunrise from the bed. A magical stay.

Hotel Carolina truly exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the entire staff—from the front desk to housekeeping and the restaurant team—was welcoming, attentive, and always ready to help, including organizing our taxi with ease. The property itself is beautiful, with an incredible lagoon view that made our stay even more special. The rooms were spotless, comfortable, and very well maintained. We especially loved the complimentary use of kayaks and paddleboards, which allowed us to fully enjoy the peaceful lagoon. The location is also ideal: about a 20-minute walk to town and roughly 40 minutes from the airport, offering the perfect balance between convenience and tranquility. Overall, this hotel delivered more than we expected, and we would absolutely stay here again. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

This is a beautiful place. The staff is helpful and friendly. The rooms are beautiful- it’s just a gorgeous place. We took a kayak out into the lagoon and visited a cenote and then had a swim. The food in the restaurant is delicious. It was a very short stay but we will definitely be back. Absolutely loved it.

I would not recommend this place. It is expensive and their internit does not work, the AC wasn’t working. They sent a really nice guy to try to fix it until 9:00pm. Has to move the bed because the AC was dripping pretty bad. Not worth for the value!!! Only one breakfast option. All they said was… SORRY.

The staff were amazing! The view and the food by the bar/palapa was spectacular. The room was very clean, I personally found the bed mattress a bit hard but otherwise the room was perfect. Location was perfectly away from hustle and bustle of town but close enough drive to access all the fun bars and restaurants.

Great place, has it all.

Everything you need in one place. Clean rooms, great service. Bar staff was amazing (moises). They just need better wifi but then maybe it was a blessing to not be connected.

The hotel was lovely very quiet and relaxing with a great access to the lagoon. Breakfast was very good and lunch/dinner menu was just ok, nothing too exciting so who mostly went in town for dinners. The hotel located beast the city center with lots of restaurants options. Rooms were comfy but sheets need to be replaced as seems quite old and used.

From the moment we walked in we felt the calmness and beauty of Hotel Carolina. We felt so welcomed. I spent HOURS researching the best hotel in Bacalar, and this was absolutely perfect! Beautiful rooms and grounds. My young boys (6 and 8) loved the pool and the warm lagoon waters. Breakfast was stunning sitting on the deck. We enjoyed sitting in the sun looking over the waters on the pier/beach chairs, and the swings in the water make for perfect pictures. Kayaks were available for adventures (close to a cenote for exploring!). We would love to stay again.

Hotel Carolina ..... Wish we didn't have to leave. If you're looking for accommodations close central and on the water this is your place ! A boutique style resort with amazing staff! From the moment we stepped onto the grounds you could tell the staff enjoyed their jobs and took great pride in what the hotel has to offer their guests. The staffs attention to detail ensuring customers needs were met was truly appreciated! Shout out to Juan !! There is an onsite bar and restaurant with very reasonable prices! Don't forget to make use of the complimentary kayaks and paddle boards that are available for their guests. When we return to Bacalar, Carolina will be at the top of our list to say at.
