"The staff were very friendly and helpful. Checkin was very quick. Upon realising we booked a smaller room by mistake, we were upgraded to a more spacious room without charge. Overnight parking is free for guests. The room was spacious and clean and was serviced daily with clean towels. The temperature was good and complimentary robes were offered to us. The hot water didn’t work in our room on the penultimate day. They offered to change room for us but we declined. Instead, we accepted the offer for us to shower in another room until they had fixed the problem. The Bar and restaurant had a nice chilled atmosphere, although the bar opening time was a little later in the day so it wasn’t possible to order a coffee in the morning but coffee is served in the restaurant with breakfast. The sauna/spa was great too, a perfect way to end a long day sightseeing but can be busy. The gym is small but complete. The location is excellent as it is only a 10 minute taxi drive from the centre which is very pretty and where you can find many restaurants for meals. Sainsbury’s is just next to the station which is also 10 mins drive from the hotel. If you don’t have a car there is a local supermarket just down the road. The airport is just 20mins away in the taxi. All in all, a fantastic 5 day stay with nice staff. I can highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again. "

"This quaint, Grade 2 Listed building housing the bar and reception desk has excellent, family staff. The guest rooms are modern in design, clean & spacious. My son and I enjoyed looking around the village and ate at one of the various resturaunt's located nearby. Nice and quiet overnight, We left this morning to drop off my son at Gatwick Airport (30 minutes drive) avoiding the risk of him missing his flight. (We would have had to use the M25 if we drove from our home)"

"We had an absolutely wonderful week at Ridge Hill Manor together with our greater family. The house and garden are beautiful, and there are lovely dog walks from the house in all directions. East Grinstead is only a few minutes drive away, yet the location feels very rural. Conveniently situated for days out at places like Standen House, Chartwell and Glyndebourne. Pete was very helpful and communication easy. The only things we missed were a history of the house (which we got via WhatsApp after asking) and maybe a few more kitchen utensils (like for example a water jug). We would all love to come back!"

"Cons-no main light in the back bedroom. Had to use bedside table light.-as in the photo there are a few Gauguin paintings of a naked ladies (not great for little ones).-in the second bedroom, the cupboard is full of the owners stuff so there is no where to hang anything.-stairs to the bedrooms are rather steep with floating stairs.-in the back garden there is a side light by the gate but the rest of the garden is in darkness, none of the solar lights work.-different levels of floor between the living room (low door height), kitchen, bathroom & a small step into each bedroom at the top of the stairs.-another trip hazard between the conservatory and the kitchen.-the front door doesn't have a key (certainly that we could find, we did find the key on top of the fridge to the old red car stuck on the drive) but worried that our only emergency exit was through the kitchen and into the conservatory. Even if we had found a key to the front door, both the sofa and lamp are far too close to the front door, that we'd never get through.The final issue was returning Wednesday afternoon to find a baliff letter stuck to the window of the conservatory door in the back garden. This really unsettled us as we didn't know whether they'd return. The back gate to the garden can't be locked as door and fence post are at different hights and the catch to open the gate is easily accessible either side for entry to the house. We felt really vulnerable.-We did email Vrbo who didn’t reply."

"Although the property is impressive inside with good size rooms and an extensive shared area. Our weekend break was ruined by a number of issues. Firstly, we had to contact both the host and VRBO for access information 3 hours before we were due to check in. On the first night, we saw mice on the kitchen, which caused us to constantly disinfect all surfaces and stop our 20 month grandson playing on the floor. On the second night, we were awoken by a very loud party next door, at another rental property, which started at 12.00 midnight. When we informed the host of the issues, they were apologetic but had to be persuaded to offer any recompense for the issues. Eventually, a token amount was given. We would not stay there again. "
