About this property
A sudeley castle cottage that sleeps 6 guests in 3 bedrooms
The Guest Cottage is furnished throughout with beautiful antiques, paintings, ornaments and an impressive collection of books chosen by Lady Ashcombe (whose office and studio are located at the rear of the cottage). The Guest Cottage is five minutes' walk to the entrance to Sudeley Castle and Gardens and just ten minutes' walk to the heart of historic Winchcombe.
Downstairs, the accommodation includes a welcoming hallway, a fully equipped country kitchen with dining table and an elegant, yet cosy, living room with a flat-screen TV and DVD player, plus a wide selection of books to curl up within a comfy armchair or window seat. Upstairs, the accommodation comprises two double bedrooms, one twin bedroom and two bathrooms, one en-suite with a walk-in shower and the other a family bathroom with walk-in shower and bathtub.
Ground Floor Entrance Hall: Step through the rose-covered porch into the tiled hallway. Straight ahead are the stairs to the bedrooms and bathrooms; to the left the Living Room; and straight ahead there's a handy under-stair cupboard housing cleaning items, ironing board and a highchair. (A locked door leads off the hallway to Lady Ashcombe's private office.)
Living Room: The stylish Living Room overlooking the front garden has an air of 1930's glamour, with its original fireplace surround and tiles, wooden floor and rugs, sink-in sofa seating, comfy armchairs, antique card table and bookcases brimming with books of every kind, including Burke's Peerage. Complementing the antique feel is an up-to-date, large Freeview TV and DVD player.
Kitchen-Dining Area: The country-cottage, dual aspect Kitchen, with its cream coloured cabinets and wooden work surfaces, is fully equipped for a self-catered stay. Up-to-date equipment includes a five-ring hob and double oven, Nespresso coffee machine, fridge/freezer with chilled water dispenser, microwave, utensils, dishwasher, toaster, kettle, washer-dryer and all the glassware, crockery and cutlery needed by six guests. At the centre of the kitchen is an oak dining table with seating for six guests on comfy dining chairs, and to the side is a handy desk with a lamp.
First Floor Bedroom One: The light and welcoming en-suite master bedroom looks out over the front and side garden. Furnished with a king-size double bed, Art Deco-style bedside tables and reading lamps, an antique dressing table, chest of drawers (with hairdryer and mirror above), wardrobe (housing luggage rack, travel cot and heater) and a delightful small armchair, this bedroom has everything you would need for a restful stay. Beautiful, thick floral curtains, the original, but ornamental, fireplace and antique paintings and prints bring character and charm to the bedroom. Two steps down into the:
En-Suite Bathroom: The en-suite bathroom has a large shower (one step up) with detachable hand-held shower head, W.C., washbasin with vanity unit, heated towel rail and a full-length mirror, which can be viewed from the bedroom.
Bedroom Two: Decorated in pale grey with accents of green, this pretty, double bedroom overlooks the front garden. It is furnished with a standard double bed, bedside tables with reading lamps, an antique, freestanding wardrobe and two dressing tables, one with a large mirror and hairdryer. Beautiful, thick floral curtains, the original, but ornamental, fireplace and antique paintings and prints add character and charm to the bedroom.
Landing leading to:
Family Bathroom: At the back of the house, overlooking the rear garden, is the Family Bathroom featuring a roll top bath, walk-in shower, washbasin with vanity unit and mirror, and heated towel rail.
Bedroom Three: The smallest and quietest bedroom, this room overlooks the side garden and features two single beds with a shared bedside table and reading light. The room is furnished with a chest of drawers with a large mirror above it, a luggage rack, spare heater and hooks for hanging clothes. (Note: this room does not have a wardrobe.)
Outside The Guest Cottage has a large garden to the front, with a lawn divided by a lavender-lined pathway leading down to Castle Road - the main road from Winchcombe across the Cotswolds to Stow-on-the-Wold. The garden has a table with seating for six, a parasol and barbecue (please provide your own charcoal). To the rear is a huge garden laid to lawn with a towering yew tree, herbaceous borders and deciduous woodland leading down to a small stream. To the side are outhouses, one private and one open for guests' use. At certain times of the year, neighbouring horses graze in the adjoining fields.
Parents of young children: please note that because the garden is big and rambling and has a small stream running along the border of the rear garden, young children should always be accompanied by an adult while in the garden.

Comfortable house - great weekend away
The large cottage is perfect for a family group or group of friends. It's very comfortable and well equipped, very well located for visiting the castle and if you are mobile quite easy to walk through the castle grounds into Winchcome.
We had a great weekend and will certainly come back.

Excellent retreat but close for anythung
Excellent spot we have used for the 2nd year running as a base for the races. Comfy and spacious, and only a short walk up into the town if anything is needed. Will no doubt be looking to rebook again next year

Perfect Stay
Everything about the cottage was dreamy. I grew up in Winchcombe and my Mum still lives there but I needed a bigger place to house my friends for my birthday and we loved every minute of it. Stylish, cosy, clean and perfect for visiting the castle and going on walks.

Absolutely beautiful property
Sudeley guest cottage was just amazing. It was very comfortable and clean and a lovely little welcome package. We were so disappointed that our stay was cut short because of the Red Alert in Edinburgh and could only stay overnight. We had planned to stay 2 nights and explore the Cotswolds. If we are ever back we would definitely stay here and highly recommend the property

A Special Place
Despite disappointing weather we had a wonderful time in a magical location. The house is very comfortable and well equipped . Endless walking routes nearby and a village that provides everything you need. Highly recommend the Lion Inn and the Winchcombe Indian restaurant .
Sudeley Castle is a bonus , together with the beautiful gardens.

Description
Great stay in characterful cottage that was surprisingly spacious and very comfortable.
All mod cons - we enjoyed cooking family meals in the kitchen and listening to birdsong in mornings.
The road outside is a bit nearer than expected but it didn’t hamper our enjoyment.

Cosy, well-equipped cottage
We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend at Sudeley Guest Cottage. The property was very clean and well-equipped with comfy beds.
We made good use of our free entry to Sudeley Castle.
The only negative was the very overgrown and unkempt condition of the garden behind the cottage which I think belongs to another, unoccupied, property attached to the cottage.

Delightful Cottage
Sudeley Guest Cottage is in an excellent location, directly across the road from Sudeley Castle and a few minutes drive from the lovely town of Winchcombe. It was very comfortable and very well provided. It is verging on shabby chic but that added to the charm. We were very lucky with the weather for our stay in late March and were able to enjoy the garden.
The cottage is very well positioned for exploring the wider Cotswolds area, many National Trust and English Heritage properties, the GWSR and comes with free entry to Sudeley Castle which is fabulous.
Our party of four adults thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return at a future date.

3 night break, six adults in Guest Cottage
Lovely, clean and comfortable accommodation. Good sized bedrooms, kitchen and living room. Felt spacious with 6 adults. Great location opposite the entrance to Sudeley Castle. A little bit further away from the town than other Sudeley Castle cottages - a 10-15 min walk as opposed to 5 mins. Lovely garden to sit out in.
Winchcombe offers everything you need from pubs and restaurants, to a well stocked small supermarket. Loads of walks from your door - no need to use a car.

Beautiful Cottage perfectly located
We had a lovely stay at the cottage with our family of six from Germany. There are nice walks in the near and Suddely castle is close by. We really enjoyed the house and its location. The house has a beautiful kitchen, a comfortable living room and nice bedrooms.
The only problem for us was that we had several times no hot showers. We called and Matt came asap from the castle only to tell us that everything was fine but the next morning again: cold water.
Still we highly recommend the house and say thank you for our beautiful holidays.

Our favourite peaceful Cotswold hideaway close to Sudeley Castle.Great welcome tray.
We are returning guests and the cottage was chosen for it’s peaceful setting with close proximity to wildlife and the castle grounds so our autistic son could take wildlife photographs. The cottage is furnished in a shabby chic style which needs updating in places but has a beautifully fitted and equipped kitchen efficient showers and comfy beds. The wifi is very good enabling our journalist son to work from home there. We all had a great time spotting two types of deer and partridges plus unusual birds in the grounds and visiting Broadway tower for it’s fantastic views. It was great to be able to walk to the castle which is just across the road and the gardens there are beautiful.

Character cottage
The downstairs is quite small but the bedrooms are spacious. Well equipped kitchen. We didn’t have any central heating but the head of security arrived promptly and supplied us with 6 radiators which we were very grateful for. It was lovely to see pheasants in the garden and a peacock. The cottage had lots of character but it didn’t feel very homely. It was very disappointing that there was no log fire even though we were told there was which would have made a big difference I think. There was an electric fan heater “log burner” which was really very odd. The house was ok but not worth the price.

Nice cottage
It's a Nice house, with a lovely garden. At the back of the house you have an amazing view. Sudeley castle cross the streat!! The kitchen is cosy and well equiped, perfect wifi, the rooms are nice and spacious. But it all needs some very deep cleaning!!!! Also a new makeover in the house is necessary! A lot is wornout, broeken. Stains on the carpet, Dust en dirt under the tabel at the door. You can see that the cleaningteam probably does't get much time to clean it decent. Th treats you get at arrival don't make up for all of this unfortunally. Its a shame that this house isn' t taken care of inside and on the outside! Also a Lot of traffic al day long(and evening). No isolation inside so very noisy! Had to sleep with my earplugs. So for the Price we've paid, we are dissapointed.

Lovely cottage, brilliant location
Lovely old cottage, huge gardens. with lots of wildlife, including being serenaded at night by owls. Brilliant location, right opposite entrance to Sudeley castle. Ideal for visiting the beautiful Christmas illuminations.
Cottage photos need updating as the living room didn't have a carpet & the fire had been removed.Heating very warm downstairs & the hot water was very hot. Lovely kitchen well equipped.

Excellent holiday cottage
Our fourth stay in this delightful cottage and we noticed that the thistles had been cleared in the garden and the back garden was in a much better state than in July: we love this cottage and definitely hope to stay again. The kitchen is very well appointed too which helps for catering!

Sudeley Cottage - a delightful stay!
We had a wonderful stay at Sudeley Cottage. What a beautiful location and we even saw a pheasant, deer and hares in the garden. The house was cosy. It was a wee bit chilly but the room heaters helped warm up the bedrooms. I could have spent a week there! Thank you very much.
