"The house was very nice but we had problems with electricity going off every day. The host said we were using too much power but we had 5 adults who all needed to charge phones, laptops, or hearing aids each night so that caused problems. We would wake up each morning with no power, no way to cook food with an all electric kitchen so food had to be discarded at times. We would not book at this place again."

"I hate leaving negative info but for the benefit of future travelers, I have to be honest about a few items with this property: 1. It was absolutely buzzing with flies inside. There was spray and a fly swatter inside which indicates this must be a known issue to the property manager. It made our short stay very uncomfortable. 2. This is not a hot tub, it is a swedish bath. "They were only two tiny operable elevators during my stay in this 10+ floor hotel, so the wait times when going down were bad. I just took the stairs, but for my elderly parents, they had to wait each time. Staff were nice and helpful. Rooms were good and they had a free stocked refrigerator (5 drinks) that was a pleasant surprise. The view from the room was also quite nice. We tried the breakfast that includes a made to order egg station and overall it was good, but we did not find it worth the cost."

"We had to have a discussion with the reservation staff to get a better room. We were assigned a first floor room over looking a parking lot. After some discussion and significant increase in room cost we were moved to a larger third floor room with a nice view of Lake Geneva. What is the point of staying at the Grand Hotel du Lac if you can’t see the lake from your room. The hotel had many large tour groups who swarm in and out fast. Our overall experience was very good it is a very elegant hotel with a very professional exceedingly friendly staff. Since it sits on the waterfront with easy access to lake front walking and many restaurants along the way."

"Amazing 4 night stay. Location fantastic. Hotel room with a view over the mountains, amazing. Food first class, we had breakfast, lunch and dinner and couldn’t fault anything. Cheese fondue on our last evening on the terrace a real treat. Staff friendly, helpful. Only comment would be, but cheeky to charge extra for an omelette for breakfast and our car wasn’t outside at 8am despite as requesting the night before. We had to wait around 30 mins. Other than those two comments, would highly recommend staying!"

"You can book, check in, and check out without ever speaking to another person… if that’s what you like, it’s great! We certainly missed the human contact. Otherwise, it’s a good place to stay. The fire alarm was triggered while we were here (no big deal, just an alarm), which isn’t a problem except the stairwell door wouldn’t open to the lobby without a key card even while the alarm was going off, which is pretty concerning considering a lot of folks didn’t have their keycard in their pyjamas at 22:00."
