Very nice accommodations and pleasant staff. The only thing that we had a problem with was that the room that we stayed in (the Tulip room) the door would not lock. We felt safe enough, and we didn't have any valuables so it was fine for our situation, but for others, I'm sure having a door that locked would make them feel more safe and secure.
We loved this charming bed and breakfast! It's in a nice neighborhood. Our quarters were clean, comfortable and well maintained. lady named Deborah and her family take care of the grounds. She took well care of us and her breakfast was the bomb! We will definitely stay here again if we go down.
Beautiful home! We had the smallest room, but had the run of the house since no one was there. The hostess was out of town because of an emergency, but her manager met us at the door and made us feel very welcome. Though there was no breakfast provided, we had provisions in our cooler and free access to the kitchen. Would definitely stay again!!
We enjoyed the stay at the Governor's Mansion. Very quiet and comfortable. We were in the Louisville area while visiting with family. Will stay again on another visit
The house was charming and beautiful, with clean rooms and a comfortable bed. We truly enjooyyed our stay other than one issue. We arrive just after 9pm, and we’re greeted by another guest who showed us to our room. We expected to be greeted by the owner to check in, but we never saw the owner. This also meant that we were not provided breakfast as promised. To make up for this, we were sent to a local breakfast joint for a free breakfast, only to discover that it was closed on Sundays. We ended up eating breakfast in Louisville, but the owner of the Governor’s Mansion reimburses is for the meal. So in the end it was no worse for wear, but it would have been nice to know this up front. Otherwise, it was a great place to spend an evening away from the city.

lovely old mansion
Lovely old mansion with some rooms a little worse from the wear, but it was spotlessly clean and the caretakers were very conscientious to keep me informed and make certain I knew where everything was because I booked at the very last minute to avoid a snowstorm and was late checking in. It would be perfect for a family group or a group of alumni getting together for a reminiscing weekend.
Great place to stay and the breakfasts were wonderful.
The only issue was being able to contact them directly concerning late aerial. No phone numbers on tour site.
The house is absolutely beautiful! Classic ambiance and quiet atmosphere. The walls are solid...we were even able to play pool late at night without disturbing other guests. Our "house mom," Faye, was fantastic! She came in each morning with Greek yogurt parfaits, homemade egg casserole, muffins, fruit, and plenty of coffee and juice. She was a gem! We are already talking about when we will be able to make it back again.
The only downfall of anything is that there is not much at all to do in Charlestown. It is only about 20-25 minutes into downtown Louisville though, so not a bad commute at all! It was also so hot out we were unable to take advantage of the hot tub...looking forward to trying it out in the fall!
This place was so nice! The rooms were comfortable and everything was so quiet. We would recommend staying here and will definitely stay here again ourselves!
Once you enter the place it feels like you're at home

Need a little help.
The owner is very sweet however the outside condition needed a little spruce (landscapeing) and the good offered wasn't the best. The private bath I had was a tub with no shower. Other than that very comfortable stay. And a beautiful room.
