Huge room, clean, and the staff was very friendly. Great restaurant with a great view when sitting outside. The room was hot during the day, no ac and no proper fans. Room had a ceiling fan but it’s not centered over the bed and it was in winter mode, so no real draft coming down to cool you off. Lots of flying bugs inside the room, I mean LOTS. Room needs to be better insulated as said bugs come into the room in droves. They need to do a better job with mosquito screens. Loud barking dogs late into the night. No microwave, no fridge, no coffeemaker!

Beautiful Boutique Hotel
What a wonderful spot to stay. This family run boutique hotel is very comfortable in every way--from the generous sized rooms, perfect beds, tasty breakfasts and dinners. The location is fantastic--close enough for walking just about anywhere you'd like to go in Ajijic--far enough from any noises that might disrupt your sleep. All in all, it is a great spot!

Great stay -hotel staff and owner most helpful and always there to help and answer any questions. As others have noted no A/C but wasn’t a problem for our visit in mid Sept. suggest you ask for a mini fridge if they have one available. *****

Jewel in Ajijic
This hotel is a true jewel in the heart of Ajijic. Meeting the owner and hearing the history made the experience all the better. Lakeside with beautiful gardens, walking distance to restaurants, shops, and markets makes the location ideal. The hotel is pet friendly. The rooms slightly dated but extremely clean, very spacious, and surprisingly quiet. This is a traditional Mexican hacienda style hotel with many areas of interest and art. Take time to visit the hotel itself. I cannot say enough about the staff. All were friendly, helpful, accommodating, and interested in making your stay a good one. The restaurant people were absolutely great. On top of the service and bilingual. The food was excellent. The only negative may be the restaurant hours (9-5) but with coffee in the garden prior to the restaurant opening, and within walking distance of many other places to eat the restriction was not a total inconvenience. If you get a chance to eat at the restaurant try the chicken fried chicken with redeye gravy. You will think you are in the US.

We stayed for just hours in this hotel because it was 90 degrees outside this hotel doesn’t have ac and the only option instead of giving us our 2 day refund was a fan 🙄

The hotel was awesome. It was very clean and walkable to shopping, dining and sight seeing options. The rooms were large, very clean and the beds very comfortable. Only thing I disliked was the room was very bright early in the morning so I wished the had darkening curtains on the large windows. Excellent breakfast included.

A very quaint inn. A nice location within walking location of the plaza and the Lake Chapala Society. Order their pancakes for breakfast! They were the best!

Classic Ajijic hotel near/on Lake Chapala. Absolutely beautiful dining (with great service and good food) outdoors under the trees with a gorgeous view of the lake. Comfortable room, good internet. Rooms over the pool have a lovely rooftop view.

La Nueva Posada is unique. The pools size and condition was disappointing but the restaurant and gardens was quite pleasing. An older unique place to stay. We are always happier to stay at a boutique property.

The place has the Mexico charm, and the price is reasonable that includes full breakfast. I realize that Ajijic is a small town, but the rooms fixatures are very dated as well as the furniture. There is no air conditioning, the ceiling fan is not enough to keep the room cool. Good thing is it is just walking steps to the lake.

This is a jewel of a place. Cozy and inviting atmosphere. Beautiful giant tree covers half of the restaurant patio which is steps away from the lake. Spacy rooms and beautiful pool. Staff was very nice and accommodating. My flight was moved up by 5 hours, yes, it was moved up and the hotel staff arranged for me to check in earlier. One thing to note is that the restaurant opens at around 9am and closes at around 6pm.

This is a quaint and lovely hotel. My room and bathroom were spacious and well equipped. Included is breakfast and I found the staff to be very hospitable. Early morning transportation and service, although promised, was lacking. I had to wake up the guy who was supposed to wake me up and help me with my luggage. He was asleep in the lobby. :)

This is an amazing property on Lake Chapala. The gardens, outdoor dining and view of the lake are beautiful. Lots of birds, and one very large parrot who becomes quite chatty around 4 p.m. My room had a terrace and complete privacy along with a view of the lake.

We love this property because (1) it's location on the east side of Ajijic Centro keeps it quieter than locations to the west; (2) the family who runs the property are welcoming, generous, and warm; (3) the employees of La Nueva Posada are incredible: smiling, eager to assist, and genuinely caring individuals; and (4) the restaurant is first class. While it isn't the newest game in town, the reasons above make it a great place to stay.
