Wonderful experience here. First class room and friendly helpful staff. Great food in the restaurant and a very helpful manager named Kallie who spoke great English and really went out of her way to help

Amazing view to the river
It was simply amazing, after a long day of negotiations being in the hotel relaxed and having the view of the river, gives you the privacy and comfort you need. It´s spacious, clean, and comfortable. Recommended

Exceptional in every respect. The place is immuculate, smell great, great decor, good, ambiance, excellent staff, fantastic rooms and location. I stay in many hotels around the world but this one is the best in all respects my opinion

Nice hotel in changsha
Hotel was new, clean, value for money. Check in was a little slow but no big issue. Got ripped off by the hotel chinese restaurant at level 3 for a 200rmb pot of tea (my meal was only 300rmb), so dine with care. Everything else was great

Five-Star Experience
The hotel building is only one or two year old. All the facilities are shining new and gorgeous and clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. Transportation: depending on the traffic conditions, it’s about 40 to 60 minutes from the airport. Avoid the busy hours as the traffic jam can be horrible. Room and view: Room is elegantly designed, king size bed is comfortable. With the right room, you can get a nice river view. They have even provide a box of stationary which may be quite handy for business travelers. Buffet breakfast and dining: The buffet provides a wide variety of food, the dissert bar is among the most extensive ones I ever see at luxurious hotels in China. The hotel itself offers other restaurants for dinning. But if you want to try something different, there are almost no choice within walking distance. I had to take taxi to go out dinning. Surrounding: There is a waterfront park adjacent to the hotel. You can appreciate the river view while having a pleasant jog at the park. Cons: My room is right next to the stairwell. The first night I was woken up by noise at the stairwell around 2am. After complaining, the situation improved, and the hotel also sent a plate for fruit as token of apology. I will recommend this hotel to anyone.

The best hotel in Changsha
I couldn't imagine how came the overall rating for InterContinental down to 4 but this is the one of the best hotels I've ever been stayed. Spacious room, invincible cleanliness, and super friendly and accommodating staff. The transportation is not a problem for me either as long as you go to the concierge service in the luxurious lobby, and then they will quickly help you dispatch and Taxi to everywhere in Changsha city. The building is pretty new as they just grand opened early last year. It was an unforgettable experience and I am so happy I was staying in InterContinental Changsha.

Nice Hotel with Impressive River Views
I stayed at the InterContinental Changsha for a total of 11 days (5 and 6 separately). It is one of the best new hotels in Changsha and one of the better ones I have stayed at in China. The hotel rate was very affordable, staff was very well trained and courteous and attentive to customer needs. Only thing was I was not informed that they did not have anymore king size rooms and I and two customers were assigned twin rooms and only found out when we arrived at our rooms. I asked for change of room to king bed and they gave me an upgrade. But it would be nice to be informed as we were checking in, since our rooms were prepaid, so I expected that the room would be available as requested. But overall I'm very happy with my stay, it's a very nice hotel with great views of the Xiang and Liuyang River. The hotel restaurants are quite expensive, though breakfast is included. I would stay here again.

I havestayed at several 5 star full service hotels, boutiques, and like themes,as most business travelers have, throughout USA, Europe, Asia, UK, NZ, Australia. The InterContinental Changsha surpasses them all in all respect: cost/benefit, efficiency, cleanliness, kindness, assertiveness (they no what youeat and drink-its on ur table by the time u sit), its offers a serene and safe atomsphere, safe for families, situated on the river in an upscalem, clean, lanscaped mixed use venue with rubberized walking tracks. Easy to get to- straight 3mile run from the husle and bustle of City Center Wuyi Square, Taiping Street Area. The Spa and Gym are spacious, opulent, well appointed and immaculate- water, clean wipes for equipment, towels, impeccable hygiene, steam room, sauna, olimpic pool. The place msmelks good, its clean everywhere, the entire staff is accommodating- its not the NYC attitude like your putting them out and its genuine. NO TIPPING- service Charge included The food is excellent. I stayed at similar hotels in Changsha and they were nice as well as the staff, but nothing compares to this place in all respects. InterContinental Trumps them all without a pretentious but rather inviting environment.

I booked my entire trip online and on arrival to check into the hotel, i ws surprised to get a free upgrade to the premium room which was very modern & comfortable. Lovely vews from my rooms window which ws on 26th floor. The only downside ws the room service staff could not speek any english. I wanted to have english breakfast tea, but i guess people in china don't know what it is. The staff was quite hospitable though

Brand new. Everything was wonderful. The staff are great and attentive and friendly. The location is a little further out but not really a problem as it is off the main highway, just that cab drivers often not familiar that there is a hotel at the location! Early Dec 2014.

Not too far from city but at a new area, so taxi encounter difficulty in finding the place. Tel no provided by hotels.com is incorrect so we faced a lot of problems when trying to reach hotel at the first time. No eating places around so hotel should not offer room rate without breakfast. Wifi is a necessity now and should be given free, we travelled 14 days in China and stayed at both international and local hotels, Intercontinental is the only hotel does not provide free wifi.
