Everything on the lush, overgrown trail is within walking distance, but without the traffic and commercial presence of Carmel. This village is humble, and with vineyards nearby, the windy stretch of Carmel Valley Road that leads to the Cachagua Valley feels more like wine country. They're known for European-style wines, with lower alcohol and less oak. Walter Georis, who owns Carmel's French-inspired cafe, La Bicyclette, as well as the popular Casanova, recruited winemaker Damien Georis (no relation) from Bordeaux when they realized they grew up in the same village in Belgium. The house was beautiful and perfect for our group. The location was walking distance to fun wine tasting rooms and good food options. The house was spacious and clean and the outside was large and had plenty of spaces for our group to gather.
We would definitely stay here again and I highly recommend this house for anyone looking to visit Carmel!

We had a wonderful stay. The house and property is beautiful. Everything was very clean and stocked well.
We had a couple issues and management took care of it right away.
Can’t wait to stay here again!

We had a wonderful family trip to this property. We hiked at the nearby Garland Ranch Park, went to a wine tasting within walking distance of the property, BBQ'd one evening and sat around the fire pit for some dessert. There is quite a bit more to do in the area and it is within a reasonable distance from Carmel and Monterey. We had one elderly person in our group who was able to enjoy the spacious lawns with a walker. A memorable trip!

The property was beautiful and so clean!
The management was incredibly accommodating and allowed me to come in and check things out before my final payment was due… It was beautiful and we hope to stay there for the event we will be doing annually there in the area.

We all had a great time. There was plenty of room for sleeping and bathrooms. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub even though the weather was a little bit on the cool side and some rain we grilled every night and enjoyed the large kitchen so we could all eat together.

This house was really a fun and unique place to stay! Beds were comfortable, there were plenty of towels, supplies, dishes, silverware, etc. and the cookware was good quality. Management was very helpful and provided a high chair and portable crib for baby. The hot tub was great even in cold weather. It’s a quiet neighborhood but close to markets, restaurants, wine tasting, Carmel, etc. We enjoyed a family of deer that visited the yard. Our family had a great time at the house!

We were out west for our youngest son’s wedding which was in Carmel. This property had everything you could ever want or need. The property managers were amazing!! As short term landlords ourselves, we were impressed. We loved it and so did the whole family. We had a fabulous time!

This house was everything we could have wanted and more. The location was perfect and the house was ideal for our large group. Lots of space, beautiful backyard & a short walk to the town. Unlike other houses we have rented in the past, this house was stocked with cleaning/laundry supplies,towels/blankets even basic kitchen supplies. Our only complaint was, we wish we could have stayed longer.

We truly enjoyed our weekend at this home. It worked very well for my men's workshop. When we needed more heat (it was quite cold out) the hosts were "on the spot" to remedy the problem. A venue is only as good as it's support staff and this one was top shelf. Our hired chef found the kitchen perfect to create great food for us. We will definitely be back.

We loved our stay at this property. We were celebrating a co-worker and playing golf through the weekend with several couples enjoying the property. The large kitchen and living room area were great for conversations and group meals after long golf days. The property manager Manuel was prompt with his responses to our questions and needs. The pool was not usable during our stay due to a pump and algae issue, but Manuel made sure we were taken care of. I would recommend checking with the property manager prior a future stay just to confirm everything is working correctly. Overall we were very happy.

There were mixed reviews about this home so I debated booking. It turned out to be Fabulous. The communication was good, the house manager was super helpful, house was well stocked and beds amazingly comfortable. It had a great kitchen with everything we needed. Spices. Pans etc. We went in winter so only enjoyed the hot tub but the yard is gorgeous and neighborhood amazing for walking. Loved the house, the location and the rental experience. Highly recommend.

It was very unique and accommodated our family gathering well.
The stove/oven was not as pictured. The nice one had been replaced with one that looks like it should be in an apartment, not a “luxury” property. The hood in the kitchen was useless while cooking. There was algae growth in the pool and the exposed rebar and plastic pipes in and around the spa are quite unsafe.
This property has so much potential, but it is definitely in a state of disrepair and needs A LOT of TLC.

Property was great for large family wedding. We had 11 adults (4 couples) and all had own bedrooms. Were able to use the pool and spa throughout. Would note although our weather did not require, house does not have air conditioning except for a unit in the cottage. The two rooms facing the pool do get warm from the day’s sun. Communication with the owner for assistance was great and response time almost immediate. Would suggest including some instructions in the house on using the hot tub and perhaps even the pizza oven if that made sense. Overall was a great place to stay in Carmel valley. Easy walk to the wine tasting locations and restaurants also. Would definitely book again. House did have rollaway beds but likely best for children as space in main house was limited for them to be used as separate beds for adults.

What a fun house. Would love to know its history. We had 14 friends and were able to find a place for everyone to sleep. If you don't want to share beds, suggest letting the property manager know ahead of time (I didn't and she was very helpful and accommodating) so cleaners can make up roll-aways for you. The backyard is beautiful and has a pretty view of the nearby hills. We did not use the pizza oven but it looked like fun. The best part is being able to walk into to the little village for food, groceries and wine-tasting. So relaxing to not have to drive or Uber places. We rented e-bikes in Monterey and peddled along the coast to Pebble Beach Golf Club. We also hiked (walked) at Point Lobos which was stunning. All of us were from the Bay Area/Santa Cruz - fun to do a staycation from such a beautiful spot.

Our family of 13 was accommodated nicely by this special and quirky property! Kitchen was a bit small for too many cooks, plenty of cookery and furnishings, servicing our needs well. Furniture boarded on antiques, but mattresses and bedding were comply and new.
Once we figured it out, afternoons were spent making and eating homemade pizzas, cooked in the old pizza oven! What a great item, so knowing one existed, we brought plenty of dough and the local market handled all else.
Patio furnishings, pool, and hot tub occupied most of our time, with plenty of lawn space for the games that we brought.
A few minor items were noted, but a house like this should be expected to have a few imperfections, since nothing is truly perfect.
I will end be saying our trip, because of the accommodations was truly an A-! An A- that I will make one of my family’s yearly summer getaways, For Sure!

Our party of 8 had a wonderful stay at this amazing home. It is perfectly situated to enjoy the area. Less than a 5 minute walk into the village where there are ample places to eat, drink, and shop, and around 20 minutes drive into Carmel. The home was exceptionally clean when we arrived and it was very well-stocked. The outdoor space was amazing although the pool had not been heated. It was a chilly week so we enjoyed the hot tub daily. The bedrooms were spacious although the middle bedroom on the second floor was not a bedroom at all. It had a bed in it but no doors, which was not shown in the photo of the floor plan. We spent a lot of time in the kitchen/dining area, which really needed some extra light. One couple stayed in the guest house but there was no lock so valuables had to be bought into the main house whenever we left for the day. Overall, the home was a great find and we would rent this property again.

Architecturally it is a very unique home and the layout accommodated our family reunion well: it was spacious, comfortable, and had fantastic outdoor space and view. This house is very special and has a LOT of potential, but not a “luxury” property in its current state. The kitchen/ dining room is a beautiful gathering space and well equipped except for the stove/ oven. They have replaced the high-end unit pictured, with the bottom-of-the-line range - inconsistent with the quality of the house. Heating the pool is not an option. I had read several reviews that the hot tub was not working, so I proactively reached out to the host 1 ½ weeks before our stay to ensure it was working. When we arrived, it was not working! The management was quick to respond, but given the holiday weekend, it did not work for our 5-day stay. The hot tub needs some TLC, exposed pipes etc…does not look safe/ comfortable to sit on top of it. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would consider returning…if the hot tub was updated/ worked.

We had our group birthday reunion in this large house for a long weekend. The main house has 6 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms. One bathroom is in master bedroom suite and two bathrooms are for the other 5 bedrooms to share. There is a separate cottage with a full suite of bedroom, bathroom and kitchen which we didn’t use. This layout was important for us since we had several couples to accommodate. The house is clean and spacious for us. The front yard has many space to park our cars. We had three cars. It should have no problem to park another three more cars. The host is very nice and prepared us with fully stocked kitchen and nice welcoming gifts. The location of the house is nice and quiet. There is a nice pool and hot tub. The house is fully of nice furniture. We enjoy our staying very much. Thank the host very much. Highly recommended to any 7 couples party. It is very hard to find such a large and nice house.

Our adult children and their young children spent the weekend here with my husband and me for a wedding nearby. They all agreed I made a great choice! This precious house was perfect for a large group and is so utterly charming with the stone facade and fairytale windows. My grandsons thanked me for renting a Disney castle! The living spaces were perfect and ample, as was the beautiful kitchen where we all gathered in the mornings. All essential supplies were well stocked and that was much appreciated, the grounds and pool area are beyond lovely. In addition the beds were super comfortable (which prevented grumpy humans due to bad sleep!). Those of you who travel with large families know what I am talking about.
If you are not familiar with the Carmel Valley area I will mention that the Valley is a perfect place for a quiet, tranquil stay. There is a strict noise ordinance in the Valley after 9:00pm or 10:00 (including at the wedding we attended) so this is not a place where you can come and party outside all night by the pool with loud music and laughter. (Just so you have a heads up before booking.)
The LuxeVaca associates were great communicators before and during our stay, and I would not hesitate to book their houses available in other areas for future trips. I can tell they pride themselves on providing a top-notch luxury experience. Well done! - and thank you!

This is a very unique property in an nice location. It would be even better if if were maintained. Exhaust fan over the stove/oven did not work; when the a maintenance team came to fix it they found that there wasn't any fan installed. The shower in the master suite did not work; the plumbers replaced the shower head and it worked for exactly two showers before being reduced to a dribble again. The cable connection to the TV in the kitchen does not work. Although there is a garbage disposal visible under the kitchen sink, there is not obvious switch to turn it on.
A message to VRBO/Luxe Vaca - if you are going to continue to list this place at the current rates, you really should do a better job of due diligence. It is fairly outrageous to charge what you do for something this poorly maintained.

We rented the villa for a long weekend with friends (11 adults and a child) and really enjoyed it. The location is within walking distance to restaurants, wineries, and markets. The home has comfortable leather couches so a large group can chat near the wood-burning fireplace. The garden is huge and well maintained with a full set of outdoor furniture, and the pool and spa were nice and warm.
We had a private chef come and cook a celebration dinner and the kitchen was very well stocked with cookware and serving pieces. The fancy stove in some pictures has been replaced by a basic stove/oven, but it worked fine. The local property managers were very responsive over text.
The religious decor is an interesting nod to the local mission, but I'd suggest removing crosses from bedrooms. We did notice a few minor things that needed attention, like loose stones by the pool, a missing drain cover in a sink, and a toilet tank cover that was broken and mended. The kitchen could really use a full set of drinking glasses, though there were plenty of cups. One of the bedrooms upstairs is an open room that has been screened off, a proper wall and door would be better.
Overall it was a great option for our group and we'd consider returning.
