Quiet out of the way guest house

Situated at the top of Hout Bay the guest house is a quiet oasis with a beautiful secluded garden. The rooms are comfortable and well maintained. Our host made us feel ever so welcome and went above and beyond to help us with things. This is what made the experience stand out. You will need a car and Otis quite a walk down (and back) to Hout Bay.

Wir hatten einen wundervollen Aufenthalt in dieser Unterkunft für unsere Tage in Kapstadt. Wir hatten ein sauberes Zimmer, ein bequemes Bett und guten WLAN-Empfang. Das Beste an der Unterkunft waren jedoch die Gastgeber. Wir haben den Herren des Hauses zwar nicht kennengelernt aber er bereitet ein sehr gutes, leckeres Frühstück zu mit Ei in allen Variationen und selbst gebackenen Muffins oder Cookies. Die Gastgeberin hat uns für Kapstadt und Südafrika wertvolle Tipps geben können und hat geduldig auf alle unsere Fragen geantwortet. Von unseren insgesamt 8 Unterkünften in Südafrika unser persönlicher Platz 1. Falls wir je wieder nach Kapstadt reisen, ist diese Unterkunft unsere erste Wahl!

Handy to the airport (30mins) and a great location for exploring Cape Town and environs: beaches - Hout Bay, Camps Bay, (15mins), Kirstenbosch Botanic Gardens(15mins), Constantia wine district (15mins) and the Cape Peninsula via way of the cliff-hanging Chapmans Peak road. Not to mention Cape Town itself just 15mins away over the Camp Bay road pass. The breakfasts were absolutely amazing and set you up for a full day of activities!

Petra is a lovely host and we are returning guests really appreciating it all. Only small bad thing is the WiFi that is not extended to the guesthouse and very slow on site. But food awesome, location quiet and private and beds very comfortable. Book your stay here and you won’t regret.

Peaceful and serene

The property is gorgeous and the room was great. Kurt and Petra have an amazing spot with great hospitality. My boyfriend and I came down with a stomach bug and had to spend the entire day in bed, not allowing us to enjoy what Cap Serein truly had to offer. We hope to come back for another visit and enjoy the hospitality and great food provided. We would definitely recommend.

Nur zu empfehlen!

Wir haben die letzten Tage unserer Rundreise auf der wirklich hübschen Anlage des Cap Serein Guest House verbracht. Es hat uns den Abschied nochmal deutlich erschwert! Die Unterkunft lädt aufgrund ihrer Sicht auf die Bucht von Hout Bay, den Pool, das wirklich saubere und schöne Zimmer sowie die tolle Gastfreundschaft der Gastgeber zum Entspannen ein. Außerdem sind alle Ziele im Großraum Kapstadt mit dem Mietwagen schnell zu erreichen. Die Gastgeberin kam uns bei der Planung der Urlaubstage mit vielen Tipps zur Hilfe. Sie gibt sich wirklich äußerst viel Mühe auf Fragen und Wünsche einzugehen, so erhielten wir aufgrund eines sehr frühen Ausfluges auf Wunsch auch ein entsprechend rechtzeitiges Frühstück. Gerade als Deutsche, wenn man seine geliebten Brötchen vermisst, ist man hier an richtiger Adresse. Die Auswahl an Wurst und Käse ist hier sehr gut, was vom afrikanischen Standard nicht zu behaupten ist. Die Gastgeber antworteten im Vorhinein auch nach Kontaktaufnahme per Email sehr schnell, was eine Buchung sehr angenehm gestaltete. Unsere letzten Tage in Südafrika haben wir uns genau so vorgestellt und würden deshalb jederzeit wiederkommen!

Relaxing place with fab view

We stayed in Avignon room.garden ,pool and view are exactly as on the pictures.lovely garden , relaxing and friendly host. Room is very big and Comfortable although a bit dark and one can see Hout bay in the distance.nice big bathroom. One problem wax the internet access, we like planning things and looking at routes/menus...and there is no net in your room you have to go back at the front t of the house by the pool to be able to use it which is a bit of a pain at night or if weather not so good

A great place to stay

We stayed for one night at this fantastic guesthouse and yes - we wish we could have stayed longer. Petra was an excellent host and her husband really spoiled us with fantastic cooking. After a few trips to south africa with great dinner in many places we had high expectations but still they we able to really exceed. So - Whatever you do - don't miss the dinner in the evening, worth every penny. We made use of both the pool and the jacuzzi, with the beautiful scenery in the background overlooking the ocean view and bay. The place is safe, peaceful and quiet. The downsides are few, the wi-fi doesn't reach all the rooms and its kind of tricky to find (if you use GPS look for the street address not map location) but in the end it doesn't matter that much because our stay was all in all great and we would recommend this to everyone going to Hout Bay South Africa.

Relaxing and enjoyable

My visit was too short as I only spent one evening there. The location of the guesthouse was perfect for visiting Cape Town and Table Mountain. The family was so pleasant and welcoming. The room was decorated beautifully and was very clean and comfortable. The grounds were impeccable and it was relaxing to hear the birds while in the gardens.
