Nice boutique hotel (b&b). Lovely stay. If you’re on the level above the restaurant and sleep early, I’d see about requesting the third level for sleeping comfortably and somewhat quietly. It’s an older property so it all makes sense and is nothing the owners can do to really change it. It’s a no frills kind of place so go and enjoy it and the beauty that surrounds it. I provided direct feedback to the owners and I believe it will be taken and applied. Beautiful little beach town!

Overpriced for what it has to offer. Wouldn't come back here. Small old room, sink is in the room, bathroom is in another room. Almost 1k for 2 nights at the end of September? Not worth it.

The location and the free breakfast was excellent. The parking was a bit inconvenient because it was not close to the location. No check available it was via text. While the decoration was beautiful housekeeping could have been done a lot better. The walls were very dusty and cob web on the windows and the corners ceilings. The bed sheets, pillow sheets and comforters smelled mildewy. They sheets were left in the washing machine for a long period of time.

Our air conditioning broke the first night we were there. The owners were very kind and provided us with a fan but the AC did not get fixed until the next night. We were not offered a discount or anything for all of the air conditioning issues with the room.

The quality of service and friendliness of the owners and staff were very good. The hotel had a tiny bedroom for 2 single beds, bathroom very small. Dinner with French chef was superb. I’d go again. Location very good and central. Close to Washington Mall.

Cape May is our happy place and we found a great new spot to stay. The property is in the heart of Cape May and walkable to all the great spots. John who runs the property is a great. No parking, restaurant is right below rooms making it noisy. Hosts held a party until after midnight. Shower stall was extremely small. Would not fit a large person. Electrical plugs had lights so the floor was lit up at nite making it difficult to sleep. No lounge area. No extra security lock on inside of door to room. Hosts were friendly enough and the breakfast was fine.

My husband and I booked the Ivory Room at the Hugh Boutique B&B for our 20th Anniversary. Overall it was disappointing experience and did not meet our expectations for the price. We have stayed in many charming inns but this wasn’t one of them. Firstly there is no parking at the inn. We were given a parking pass for a municipal lot “ an easy 4 minute walk” That may be true for younger people especially after a busy day but not for my husband and I who are in our 70’s. Secondly, our room was on the third floor which was an unexpected challenge. The room itself had little personality, it was all white with a tiny separate toilet and shower stall. The vanity was in the main bedroom. There was a small refrigerator but no complimentary bottled waters, would have been appreciated. When we asked the innkeeper for waters he said they had a water cooler. The Inn description advertised a “pillow menu” not sure what that is but there were 4 uncomfortable pillows on the bed. Lastly, we had a choice each day of 2 breakfast entries, an egg based dish or a sweet dish. These were served with yogurt, banana and blueberries each day. There were no potatoes or breakfast meat offered. It was also troubling that dogs were present in the kitchen and the innkeeper served the food with dog hair on his shirt. So all in all, no parking, innkeepers who did not make us feel welcomed or special especially when we told him it was our 20 anniversary made for a disappointment.

This is an attractive, updated 19th-C hotel with a fine dining restaurant downstairs. The staff is attentive, helpful, and cheerful. We stayed on the second floor in the Bronze room, which was well-appointed with a comfortable bed but had a tiny bathroom and shower that were a little difficult for my 6 ft. tall husband to move around in. The air-conditioning unit above the sink in the room leaked the first night we were there, but when we mentioned this to management, they had it repaired by the time we returned to change clothes for dinner. The hotel, like many in Cape May, does not have its own parking lot, so we were given tags so we could park in an area several blocks away. This was a little inconvenient, but since most of our stay was spent in town, not too much of a problem. The hotel is less than two blocks off the downtown mall, so very conveniently located.
