The restaurant and cocktail facilities were exquisite. Experienced restaurant staff. Very friendly welcome but a contrast of experience and attitude in staff. Reception staff in particular.
Some of them need additional training and not high calibre people. For example, we added an additional night to our stay and we got a knock on the door by reception. The receptionist was pointing at her watch and asking us to go saying “checkout is at 12”. I cannot imagine that happening anywhere I’ve ever stayed. Not only rude, but also blissfully unaware of changes made by staff the previous day. Did not apologise, nor seemed flustered by their own mistake.
The very last evening, I sat in the lobby with my dog, waiting for my partner. A restaurant staff, I’ve never seen before, came right up to us and attempted to shove my dog off the sofa. Never was that mentioned to me in the three nights we stayed there and plenty of staff served us drinks whilst my lovely white and cream Shih tzu that gets a wash every day, was sprawling all over the furniture. Whilst I appreciate some hotels may not like it, staff seem to make it up as they go along. Also, you don’t just go up to a dog you’ve never seen before and attempt to touch it without permission. For your own safety if anything else. Leaving the fact that it was very rude!
Management need to consider these mistakes seriously. Although they took off the doggy charge for the stay due to their mistakes, we will not be returning.
