"Excellent breakfast, although no choices. Staff from out of the country were great. Local staff, not friendly or helpful. Great coffee makers in room. Nice central location. Dinner food was average and service was beyond slow. BEYOND. No check ins for additional coffee or drinks at any meal. I would say this hotel i fine and a good place to stay but I woudn't describe it as exceptional."

"Just WOW!The property is everything the description says, with endless reviews to back it all up! Beautiful rooms and layout. Lovely big (heated) pool. Plus the truly stunning view across the Atlantic that glows like a painting with each sunset.Communication was excellent throughout, with lots of useful information available at the villa. The welcome basket of treats was very useful before we got some shopping in.A car (with Sat Nav) is a must. The driveway is very steep and takes a bit of getting used to ... as do the equally steep surrounding roads. But it is worth it. A few nice nearby cafes, a lovely fusion restaurant (Melton's Kitchen) and a very useful mini supermarket (an Amanhecer shop - 9370-702) a short drive away that has everything you need.All-in-all, a perfect break away from the rat race ... and one that we will be returning to in a couple of years for sure!"

"Beautiful large home in Calheta (Western side of island) with huge kitchen and pool. Kitchen well stocked for cooking. Plenty of room for family of 4. Nice porch with view. Washer/dryer (dryer limited). Amazingly hilly, windy roads so you really need a rental car. I would arrive during the day as difficult to find at night. Local town has several restaurants on the Marina and large supermarket. Pool heater was broken but it was rainy so not sure we would have used pool much anyway. Easy to get to hiking though a longer drive to Eastern or Northern shore hikes (1 1/2 hours). If you are looking for large entire home with nice views away from the city this is a great place!"

"The room was nice and spacious. We had a cobbled floor in the room which was hard to walk on and felt less hygienic. The pools are quite small. The bathroom jacked an extractor fan do the walls were very wet after using the shower. The bathroom floor was not well drained so remained wet until after the dealers had been. Tea and coffee making facilities were inadequate. We were not shown the communal rooms on arrival (lounge areas) and did not discover these till later in our stay. There are very few facilities close to the hotel. There are steep elites and steps on the site so not suitable fit people with mobility issues. We felt like we were tolerated as an add on to the vineyard rather than valued guests "
