"The place was fantastic however GuestReady was terrible! I spent hours on this booking and long story later I was promised the checkin information would be sent to us before we arrived. Stressfully, it didn't and if it hadn't been that we caught the cleaners as they were leaving we would have had to get a hotel for the first night. "Pros: Ruime woonruimte met tuin gedeeltelijk in de zon waardoor niet al te warm. Altijd parkeergelegenheid voor de deur. Haven met restaurants waar je elke avond voor weinig en veel keuze heerlijk kunt eten. "We had a wonderful stay here for our very first visit to Madeira. We were greeted by the hosts who went through everything with us in detail. We were supplied fire wood and a supply to get us started of milk, bread, cheese, ham and fruit as well as a delicious cake and wine. Unfortunately the weather was not in our favour but it didn’t stop us enjoying the beautiful property and the kids still got to enjoy the pool a couple of days. I would have no hesitation giving this property a 10/10. "

"We came for two days - we stayed five. Is there more to say? The gym? Nice! The spa? Nice. The pool? Nice! I had a burger at the bar on day one. Not the best one. We ate outside at the Italian restaurant nearby for the other days. Highly recommended. The staff at Saccarum was more than helpful and nice. All of them. The beds are comfortable. Very important for me. "

"The room was nice and spacious. We had a cobbled floor in the room which was hard to walk on and felt less hygienic. The pools are quite small. The bathroom jacked an extractor fan do the walls were very wet after using the shower. The bathroom floor was not well drained so remained wet until after the dealers had been. Tea and coffee making facilities were inadequate. We were not shown the communal rooms on arrival (lounge areas) and did not discover these till later in our stay. There are very few facilities close to the hotel. There are steep elites and steps on the site so not suitable fit people with mobility issues. We felt like we were tolerated as an add on to the vineyard rather than valued guests "

"I recently stayed at this lovely one-bedroom property in Fajã da Ovelha, hosted by Irina, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I chose this spot for its location—it’s on the south coast, where the weather is generally better, and the sea views are stunning. It’s just a short stroll to the coast, and everything felt peaceful and off the beaten path.I came to Madeira for photography, and the location worked perfectly. Ponta do Pargo Lighthouse and Levada are within a 10min drive away, whilst most landmarks like Fanal Forest and the dramatic sea stacks of Ribeira da Janela are within 45mins. Irina was incredibly accommodating, too. My flight was delayed by two days, and she kindly adjusted my booking so I didn’t lose any time—no extra charge, just genuine hospitality.The apartment itself was spacious and cozy for a one-bed. The kitchen was well-equipped, with plenty of fridge space, a great oven, and a reliable gas hob—perfect for cooking after a long day of shooting. It felt like a home away from home.One of the highlights was Irina’s two Alsatians, Essa and Enola. They were friendly and well-behaved, adding to the warm, welcoming atmosphere. Irina herself was lovely—helpful and informative, but never intrusive.Overall, I can’t recommend this place enough. It’s a great base for exploring Madeira’s photography hotspots, and the hospitality is top-notch. I’d happily stay again!"

"while the weather was beyond anyone’s control, I had such a cozy stay and was perfect for the R&R that I needed. The grounds, the room and the entire property was so delightful though there were other guests. I don’t think I saw even one! It was truly so lovely in the rooms. I think everyone was cozied up by their fires during the rainy evenings. I really loved the grocery store, though the prices are a bit higher than in store, you’re paying for the convenience of all your necessities being right there and I thought that was really nice. Plus your room already comes with plenty of eggs, cheese and bacon for breakfast cereals, granola and yogurt as well as milk and juice so there’s not really much else to grab unless you are going to make a nice dinner. I truly loved all of the kitties, despite I’m allergic, they were adorable, kept to themselves, and we’re awfully cuddly when I was leaving (They are also vaccinated so there’s no worries.) on top of that there are chickens, ducks, and sheep on the property and I hope to come back when the weather is better to enjoy that beautiful pool, the vegetation, and the beautiful views! thank you again for such a wonderful stay and apologies again for setting off the fire alarm! 😂 i’ve got to get used to using those cast-iron stoves! "
